  • Resident Evil 2 (Remake)

Anyone played this yet? It's certainly far more than I expected it to be which was a carbon copy with modern graphics and a few extra cutscenes/rooms/puzzles. I mean damn they've really mixed it up with this version. You do not follow the old path at all. I'm playing on hard and it's way more of a chllange than I expected. I was assuming I could rush through it saving just two time like in the original but nope. It's basicallly like I'm playing blind.

One criticism I have is at least on PS4 the graphics aren't that amazing. But that's a minor issue.

I'm desperate to get it but can't justify spending the money yet. Have you heard how long it is?

I seen people saying 8 hours but I'm pretty sure they were just trying to be edgy about it being bad. Do hope there's a good reason to replay it though, playing with every character never really interested me.
New stuff and/or a Mercernaries mode would be cool for a bit extra to do.

Leon's story can take slightly over 4 hours from what I've seen, but that's just half the game, so, 8 hours might be correct.

8 hours if you don't get stuck and die over and over. And don't forget you have to do Hunk and Tofu's scenarios. And I imagine it takes even longer to get a platinum trophy.

Been playing it on the PC, one of my first gaming purchases on a while. It's fantastic.

Hmm...as much as I desperately want to play it 8 hours is kinda meh, I tend to not like replaying games unless they're RPG's so think I'll wait for a price drop or something.

I'm also slightly turned off by Mr. X being pretty easy to dodge I hope he's enhanced by difficulty modes, that's the problem with a big bad like that. Eventually you get used to them and they kinda stop being scary.
Hopefully they can refine the idea with an RE3 remake, Nemesis needs to be way more difficult to get away from.

I think it'd be cool if they added a dodging system with different moves and you have to pick the right one to dodge effectively.
Like you hold R1 to prepare to dodge, press X to step backwards, Square or Circle to go to the sides and Triangle to go under their legs.
              Something like that.
A bit of a Rock, Paper, Scissors kind of deal to make the big bad actually have a chance of getting you but not immediately killing you.

Beat it on normal with a time of 6:12:25 and got a B rank. Not enough for an infinite ammo weapon unfortunately. Need to get at least an A for that. Beat the final boss with just a hand gun

Mr. X is still a pretty big threat, though.

Even in easy difficulty, I bet.

Nah he isn't even on hardcore. He needs two hits to kill you just like evrything else except as soon as you recover from his punch or throw you can just run right past him He's just annoying when you want to get somewhere and he's blocking a door or amongst some zombies. The most annoying example is when you grab the jack and he chases you all the way to the library where you need to move the book cases. My strategy is to move one of them earlier so I spend less time in the room when he's coming after me. Even his Super Nemesis form at the end with leon isn't a big deal really.

Now lickers and dogs. They are the true bastards of the game. I got stun locked to death by dogs in Leon B. **** those things.

Yeah an enemy that always follows you around is problematic like that, you have to be able to deal with them which ends up making their AI super exploitable.

In future it'd be cool if they had multiple big bads that have different patterns. And then because it's Resident Evil they can just mutate and meld together.

The free DLC for this game is fantastic. Mr Kendo ftw.
