If you don't what the move Wolf Fang Fist is (I can't imagine any real DB fan no knowing it), it's a technique invented and used by Yamcha. Much like Kaioken it's best used in short burst only it's a physical technique rather ki-based so it's more of an augmenting of power than increasing power. In every game Yamcha's ever appeared in it served as his signature move in one shape or form. Budokai Wolf Fang Fist is a lvl 1 Super move but it does noticeably more damage than the average lvl 1 Super move in Budokai. It's input-based so after you initiate it you would have to press the E button repeatedly to fully execute it. The startup has a wolf fx appear as Yamcha initiates the pose and the ending also has blue slashes for the hit sparks. One interesting thing about it is certain sequences have nullifying properties giving it priority over most attacks and can be charged (which can be used as cancel combos) including the start-up making it really effective if used right at close range but it's missing something.... while it does make a good zoning tool and combo extender it doesn't resemble the move all that well (most of the animation is pre-canned). Budokai Tenkaichi In the first Budokai Tenkaichi, it's basically another rush super mover but here we're at least to some unique animation from the game's over-recycling of High Speed/Power Rush once you successfully land the attack and it's a little more accurate than Budokai's though it's still a bit off. BT3 then fixed that by giving it an unique animation for the startup and made it into a lvl 2 super move with relatively short range (though the end of it makes for great setup to start a combo) but not only that it finally got the animation for the move right. Super Dragon Ball Z Here Wolf Fang Fist is a special move which you receive for your character by wishing for it with the dragonballs even though Yamcha himself isn't in the game and it costs no ki unlike Budokai or Tenkaichi. Like Budokai, it's input-based but the timing for each chain is extremely strict (the next input when each attack makes contact). I don't know the properties for it since I never figure out how to time it consistently so I got rid of it and the animation is also pretty off. Raging Blast/Ultimate Tenkaichi In Raging Blast, Wolf Fang Fist is a signature skill and it is also input-based but it's done at a point-blank range on top of the buffering being rather long with no pausing making it kinda useless. The move is also lacking in cinematics... all you get is the wolf howl and Yamcha shouting Wolf Fang Fist plus the animation is slightly off. There's also another version of the Wolf Fang Fist which is called Binding Wolf Fang Fist. Gameplay-wise it's nothing too fancy... basically just another rush move and the rush sequence is based on the move he used against that Wolf in the Tenkaichi Budokai during anime filler. In UT, signature skills are removed so regular Wolf Fang Fist is gone but Binding Wolf Fang Fist is left completely intact. Xenoverse Wolf Fang Fist is a Strike Super which has you rushing at your opponent for the startup to there's a degree of tracking with a decent range and the ending sends them flying which opens up an opportunity for start a combo with good time. Dimps also finally got the animation right... but no wolf fx. ![]() Which game do you think did Wolf Fang Fist the most justice? |

BT3 for me. It looks pretty painful, even it doesn't do a lot of damage. IMO Wolf Fang Fist would work better as an ultimate. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |
