Pokemon Creation; Would it ever make its way to the game

So yeah, Mewtwo was cloned from Mew, Porygon was created digitally, Muk is created from "human pollution" and I'm pretty sure there are a few more man-made pkmn. So my question is would we ever get a game where we could "create" our own pkmn in a game? Sort of like the old pc game Spore.

I wish we could. Something like Spore would be great, even if that would mean 20% of the fanmade Pokémon would be dick-shaped, because toilet humor.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Wow . . Excellent point I totally forgot that it's customary to make a penis-shaped creation given the the opportunity lol but I was thinking more along the lines of pick your pkmn types then have like a character customization type screen where you could alter features with sliders and such, the only thing is I would want the option to customize them every time they evolved, which sounds tedious. I guess I'll just stick with my Lego Bionicles/Pkmn aha

I don't think this would ever happen because the fan-made content would devalue their franchise. By having total control over the designs and names of the Pokemon they can continue to expand their intellectual property, but if they allow people to make their own Pokemon there's no consistency and the entire thing breaks down.

Also, would that involve stats and abilities? Because you could just end up making ridiculously overpowered Pokemon.

No, I'm thinking stats, nature, ability all that would be based off of similar pkmn types. Like say for instance you create a fire type that looks like Charmander, it's iv/ev stats would be based of of it, as well as its abilities. The customization would probably prompt you as to what body type and size you would choose then it would choose random pkmn similar to it.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I don't think they'd ever really do it but it would at least be cool if they gave every Pokémon a random colour design.

So like you could have an Arcanine that was spotty but you could breed it with others in order to get a striped one. Or perhaps interspecies breeding to copy patterns but they'd have to explain that one, Ditto makes sense but not totally different species getting it on.

Then again they do all lay eggs so why not.

I think they should just do more competitions for fans to design their own.
That way we get actual cool ones in the main game. Nintendo seems to have run out of decent ideas now so why not get fans to design like 50.
Over the course of a few years they could do one competition per month, they'd have plenty by the time a new game was coming out. Especially since the next one will probably be another remaster and they wouldn't need to add much new.

have an overall total base stats so you have a limit on how much is distributed between all the diff stats

but yeah i dont like the overall idea.

Makes sense, I would see this game as sort of a spin-off game like the one with shadow pkmn I can't remember the name. I guess it's the creationist in me that like to create things. Shoot you could probably even send your design to someone and have a plush made. I just hope the pkmn franchise gives more customization options somewhere down the road.

What about creating moves? You could combine two moves and it averages out the base power and accuracy and combines both effects. For moves with no base power, you just lose half the base power (which I guess would be the average anyway). You could say that any stat moves that boost a stat two stages is taken down to one, to stop things like Fire Blast/Swords Dance. Even with that limitation you'd end up with some overpowered moves, but it'd be a pretty cool feature. I dunno how they'd handle things like Reflect/Light Screen/Protect. Maybe instead of having a base power, you just take damage a la Spiky Shield, or a possible status condition like the abilities Static/Flame Body, just as a move.
