Shouldn't Cell in the afterlife be weaker?

Cell lost the power of Android 17 and come to think of it the power of all the humans he absorbed as well. That was his power, so shouldn't he be in his Imperfect Form in the afterlife? All the times he was seen in the afterlife were merely filler so that they can't truly be canon.

So should Cell have lost power and should he be in his Imperfect stage?

You could always say that he remained in his Perfect form for the same reason as why Cell came back as Perfect sans #18 after blowing himself up. That plus the Saiyan cells in his body, he should actually be stronger.

However, truthfully, Cell shouldn't be anything more than a soul floating around after being scrubbed of his identity (according to the manga).

But you don't receive Zenkais from death.

Cell should be in the same boat as Vegeta, being a cloud in the afterlife.

other than being a cloud, same with when he returned as SPC. his cells had engrained the abilities of his perfect form, he no longer needed the androids or energy of others to remain perfect.

No. There's no way for him to be weaker. He's perfect, remember? :w00t:

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Yemma mentioned having trouble with Raditz and needing to subdue him. It makes you wonder how he's able to contend with confrontational spirits who are stronger than he is. Assuming Cell actually has a soul, he likely would have been recycled or something because of his karma.

I think it would be the same after his body was destroyed after losing 18. His cells had memorized the power he had after he absorbed 18, so when he regenerated, his body regenerated to that state of power.

I think it would be the same when he's killed by Gohan, but either way, he'd be sent to Hell, of which the people there don't actually keep their bodies in the manga. Only his soul would exist there.

I'm not sure why Freeza was kept in purgatory though. Perhaps he would've liked it too much in Hell. Same with Dabura actually being sent to heaven because he would've enjoyed it too much in Hell.

I'm not sure Cell did "memorize his power" when he self-destructed. I think his body just memorized the form itself, and the power came from the Zenkai. It makes sense that his cells could regenerate into a different shape, but I don't see how the power could be remembered like that.
