Lazuli, somewhere.
I say many things in many places. I can't be held accountable for all of them.

Decent society would be a Wildean sort of phrase in which the good people don't talk about improper things such as affairs and murders - they just get on and do them. There's no room for virtuousness, and certainly none for religious piety.

Have I cleared up your confusion, Yeshua?

I fear you're taking me seriously, thus endangering the both of us.

It's a facade. A facade in which everyone is concerned with putting on the appearance of being good, but entertain themselves and each other by reveling in all things bad. The fun is in that everyone is aware that everyone is aware of it, but they can't be sure that everyone is aware of it as any mention as to the goings of within decent society would be met with denial and outrage at such obviously vile behaviour, ending in the accuser's expulsion.

It also doubles as my desire for a society devoid of religion. That's why you're yet to join us.

It takes years off my life whenever you get me to explain myself, you know.

Of course you do; that's why you do it.

I don't know about anyone else but I try not to revel in anything evil in nature. That includes television and music currently.

Yeah I take you seriously just as I do anyone else. I'm a bore beyond belief.

What makes certain television shows or movies "evil?" Good and evil don't exist as collective entities; they're just two contrasts between what we individually perceive as something "good" or "bad." There is no evil.

The things that tend to happen in them, from my limited knowledge. Backhandedness, lying, murder, assault, carelessness, etc etc etc.

Surely there is a consensus that these things are evil in nature. Bad, if you will.

Not really. One person's consensus may be entirely different from yours. My consensus is that each of those acts can be justifiable or even "good" given the right context.

Would you lie, steal, assault or murder someone for the sake of the people you loved? I would lie if it meant protecting my family, I would steal if it meant keeping them alive when I had no other option, and I would even kill.

For example, if you had absolute proof that someone was plotting to murder your entire family, so you snuck in and killed them in the middle of the night, that may in fact be justified.

I guess these are just things I'll have to worry about when they manifest themselves. But you do bring up a good point. Still, why have those actions permeate in your brain when in a general sense they aren't good?

I'm just feeble-minded aren't I

I believe that it's foolish to cut out media that you think is "evil" because you're limiting yourself and your experience, but that could totally just be me. For example, Game of Thrones is one of the greatest shows ever made. It gets me thinking, it stimulates me intellectually, it makes me excited. But according to your restrictions, you would be cutting yourself off to entertainment like that. It's totally a personal decision, I get that. I'm only trying to get you think about these concepts you've created and these limits you've set for yourself.

What does a show like GOT do to stimulate your intellect? I haven't watched that show actually

I prefer shows with intricate, driven plots and characters that are constantly developing. GOT deals with a lot of politics; it's a battle of the minds. I can't really describe it properly enough to do justice to what I mean.

Since we're talking about religion and this is a DBZ forum I remember talking to this guy for a while on YouTube who practiced Gokuism lol. I could never tell if he was serious ever, he made a whole blog on it I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Here it is, it's actually kind of interesting. http://evangelicalgokuism.blogspot.ca/

Well I'm mostly talking about sitcoms like Seinfeld and Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
