High School Regrets?

Wish I had the means to do the sports my school had, I was constantly asked by coaches and my AC teacher to join Wrestling or Football or Track for Discus. That's really my only regret looking back on it. But that was mostly out of my hands and whether or not my parents could afford the gear and to get me in for a physical. Neither of which was going to happen.

Yeah, uh, gymnasium in American education is just exercising... :| Wow. That's an interesting contrast.
I don't even know why they call it gymnasium...
Here's the English article on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnasium_(school)

I have no idea what to compare it to in the US because they don't work with different levels of education there in High Schools

I shouldn't have been going in high school from the first place and I shouldn't have taken so much s*** from both techers and students.

I'm not even done with High School, going into Junior Year, and I already have regrets. Not putting enough into my studies, not participating enough in school activities, sports, clubs, whatever, not even participating enough socially, not going to parties or get togethers where I knew i'd know people there because I was too damn shy.

On that same note letting myself become the butt of too many jokes, not putting enough of an effort to get people to at least respect me. You give yourself a bad image when you can't even stand up for yourself. My only hope is that over these next two years I can try to fully solve or at least partially solve these problems.

Soldiers! Don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you; who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel! Who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder!
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You have a love of humanity in your hearts! You don't hate!

I remember during my freshman year I flipped out on the teacher. It was an immature move and I regret it to this day.

This is why yall need to add in Athletic Conditioning to your curriculum. It's mainly weightlifting and strength training at that. Best decision of my life, screw doing nothing but run and play sports.

You can really do those things at school? Seems to me like that budget could be spent in a better way.

Crazy Awesome Legend

A lot of British schools have a really low PE budget and barely any resources. Mine was lucky enough to have all the basics, a gym, a basketball/netball building, massive playing field and a field hockey court. But most wouldn't be able to afford a new curriculum and the equipment that comes with it for 30+ students.

Screw doing nothing but lifting weights and strength training. I'd rather run and play sports.

We had an 'athletic conditioning' module when I was at school. It wasn't too long, but they showed you around all the various machines at the school gym, how to use them etc.

We had a weight lifting class at my High School.

Over here at PE we had one teacher who would ask us every day: 'who wants to play football?' And then me and a bunch of other kids raised their hands, he then tossed us a ball and said: 'go play.' And then he just did whatever with the rest.

Best PE year ever.

I wish we had that. Our PE lessons were pretty strict in following their curriculum, even though the majority of the class wanted to play football (and those that didn't just didn't have any interest in PE full stop).
