I told you, she's evil! She's got it out for us.

You could always try again though if you want to do a Platinum run, that will be fine. I will say out of all the games I've played, Red/blue, Yellow, Silver, Emerald and Platinum...

Platinum is definitely my least favorite and the fact that it's supposed to be an improved version of Diamond and Pearl scares me. I think the game is unfairly difficult at times, short on the story and I find most of the new Pokemon introduced in Sinnoh to be kind of boring. it felt like a chore trying to get through that game for me personally.

Platinum is actually one of my favourite Pokemon games. I think I said somewhere else the other day, the Sinnoh set of Pokemon are probably my second favourite set, after Kanto (although Johto runs it close).

I love Platinum too. When it comes to actual Sinnoh Pokés they're probably the least consistent set for me.

It has a ton of my favourite Pokémon such as Infernape, Empoleon, Luxray, Roserade, Abomasnow, Gliscor, Electivire, PorygonZ, Drapion, Mamoswine, Rotom, Weavile... I could go on and on.

But on the other hand it also has a large portion of my least favourite Pokémon like Bibarel, Purrugly, Bronzong, Croagunk, Lickilicky, Probopass, Wormadam, etc.

It also has my least favourite legendaries. Though I never use legendaries anyway so that's not a big deal to me.

Yeah, those you listed are pretty dire (except Bronzong, I like his design). But like you, I could probably list off 3/4 of the Sinnoh Pokemon as ones I like. Torterra, Luxray, Azelf, Leafeon, Glaceon & Electivire are my favourites from the bunch.

My problem is I can actually talk myself into liking pretty much every Pokemon out there. The number of Pokemon I just flat out don't like is pretty low.

I hope Cyrus crushes both of you and eats your Pokemon.

I kid of course.

Anyways my journey continues. Also the Oddish's name was Rei, Jerry was someone else. Shows how much I care about either one of them.

Journal Entry:

After the battle against Wattson and head north, searching for new team members. Delightfully we run into a Numel and even more delightful for me a Slugma.Preferring the adorable firely slug, I named her Heatola. Maybe she will fill the void that Maria left. Along our journey we ran into a Koffing...also female. I think she likes the name I gave her, "Cough Drop" it was a bit shameful though because not soon after we also ran into a Skarmory. Oh if only we could have caught it. Alas it was not meant to be.

We arrived into the next town, did our business and went South, slowly building Heatola up. She is the only one left who can challenge the Witch of Hohen. We captured a Lotad earlier. I don't remember what we called it, I think Iskandar might have eaten it out of spite or something. At one point we crushed a rock, revealing a surprise Geodude. Capturing it, we named him Roy and sent him to the box. Really...what use is a rock now?

Arriving to Meteor Falls,it was a surprise to find that our first Pokemon was a Solrock. While its threat was low, its ability to breakout of Pokeballs proved to be an annoying aspect. It took perhaps 12 Pokeballs before "Soul Man" was captured. I decided to head back out and return to the nearest town to heal up. I will head back down and continue my journey through Meteor Falls soon.

I'm still not sure why the Oddish is still following us...perhaps it is stupid.

You're going through this really fast. Are you using the speed up feature on the emulator?

Surprisingly I didn't (alright I used it about once but mostly through some very early texts)

Otherwise I've just been going around normally, just had a lot of time to get much done. Plus I've been sticking around more with battling against trainers and trying to get further down the path and battling less wild pokemon. I've also been playing quite a bit throughout the day and even before.

EDIT: Actually I remember exactly when I used it. During the whole opening text with Birch...because I didn't want to bother reading through all that again.

I was redeeming my Arceus code and completely forgot I had a bug monotype runthrough on X going so I could get Xerneas. I'll probably try and finish that before attempting another Nuzlocke. My current team is Vivillon, Mothim, Volbeat & Illumise. I remember I did a bug monotype on Firered and really enjoyed it so thought I'd try another one with all new bugs (well, new as in I haven't used them before).

I've got quite a good collection of legendaries now. The Mythical Pokemon giveaway means that by the end of the year I'll have everyone apart from Volcanion (unless they have an event).

★ Bextreme Dream ★

I'm late to this thread so my apologies for that.

I have also been playing Pokemon recently but not as a nuzlocke - I can't bare to release Pokemon I've worked so hard on training!

Having not played the original Pokemon games for a while (and I'm talking the real originals, not the remakes) I decided to pick up Blue Version on the 3DS virtual console.

I would like to make my play through of it into some sort of story (like EMIYA and Mitas have been doing), although I am already at Rock Tunnel and am not sure what kind of stance I'd want to put on it. I've always liked the idea of the character you play being a bad guy though, so that's the angle I'd probably take with it.

Here is my current team:

(I'm using a bit of artistic licence with this, since the originals are restricted to male characters only...)

Welcome to the party Bex.

Blue Version was my very first Pokemon Game and the one I ever got the most done with. It was the one I finished, the one I actually got trades like Golem and Machamp through. It was definitely a nostalgic game for me.

Journal Entry:

Back at Meteor Falls, I caught sight of the evil Team Magma who had recently taken the Meteor. Surrounded 3-1, I planned to fight to the death until Archie and Team Aqua, Arceus bless their souls, arrived to save me. With the advantaged turned away, Magma ran like the cowards they were. This Archie guy, he seems like a cool guy. Iskandar agrees as well.

My trip then goes back around the volcano, time arrive at the next town but agahst! Team Magma is up to no good. I'm not sure what their plan is, but as the primary owner of a Water Pokemon I can't allow this. We tear through the swaves of Magma Members, I must admit they look surprisingly stupid and face off against their leader Maxie. He's a dick, beating him down was catharsis.

Captain Archie once again came to thank me. I am happy to be of support for him and his much better dressed Team Aqua. Water is essential for survival, you don't need the ****ing ground. Learn to swim Team Magma. I think Captain Archie sees me as a valuable member of the team. I am happy to be part of it and I've heard something about Archie seeking a giant whale.

I will seek out this whale and give it to the boss. My praise will be high.

What's your favorite game in the series?

Mine is HGSS. Basically took the Gen 2 games which are some of my favorites and fixed all the flaws with the game that came from memory issues (having to cut a lot of Kanto because of the GBC's limitations). Not only that but both Johto and Kanto are my favorite regions so a game that focuses on both regions would naturally be my favorite.

Soul Silver was my favourite, until I recently replayed it and saw just how broken it was. The level curve is beyond atrocious. You're still fighting trainers with level 17 Pokémon even after beating the 6th gym - where the gym leader has a level 35.

BW2 or XY are my favourites. Nice variety of Pokémon to catch, and nice and varied regions.

Silver/Gold has always been my favorite though I haven't played enough Soul Silver to tell if will ever replace it. What I have played though I've greatly enjoyed and just being able to play an updated Silver Version to me is amazing.

Blue Version (and it's respective parts like Red and Yellow) while I think has probably not aged as well as the others, is still a very fun game and holds high nostalgic value for me.

It seems to be almost universally agreed that Silver/Gold or Generation II overall is considered one of the best and all time favorites of the series and it seems like not until Black/White (which as noted before I have not played) did the series ever get back to a similar level of popularity.

That's a tough choice. It's a toss-up between Platinum, Heartgold, Soulsilver, and X/Y. Not sure I could deem one better than the others, they all have their merits.
