Unsure, I'll let the those participating decide since I'm going to try and stay out of this and just handle the tournament itself. Plus, even if I did think I could win, it wouldn't mean much to give me an award from myself. I want to get at least 8 people to do the tournament but getting more may allow for a bigger reward to be given out. I might also try to give an Announcement also to spread the word if we can get enough volunteers here first. --- --- So right now we've got: 1.) Riot 2.) Mihawk |

So, after finally finishing Pokemon Moon, I'm gonna give another crack at a Nuzlocke run. Most likely Soul Silver (if I start it before someone replies I'll just edit it into this). Let the masochism begin. |

Awesome Mitas, keep us up to date on that. I'm a bit too busy to do any Nuzlockes myself but if I do, I want to try something unique. I'm going to try out a "Black" Nuzlocke but in this case I'm going to start out with 6 select Pokemon (randomized as well) and see how far I can go with that specific team. |

That's a cool idea, keep me updated. I started the Nuzlocke, not too far though so here's a brief update: I decided to forego the random starter and just go with Totodile (Thomas) because he's a beast. I raced through the preamble and quickly bolstered my team with two new additions: Vladimir the Geodude and Elisa the Pidgey (who technically doesn't currently have a name because I forgot to nickname her, but I'll rectify that later on.....if she lives). Weirdly, all three of my Pokemon have a Calm nature, which bodes well for their composure in battle, but probably won't make for exciting companionship. I awaited the cover of night before entering the Bellsprout Tower, which ensured that my next addition was a Gastly. Serena joined the team, her Gentle nature breaking the Calm combo. And here we currently stand, conquerors of the Bellsprout Tower. Next up is our first gym battle as we go head-to-head with Faulkner and his gamebreaking Pidgeotto. Will we succeed? Find out next time on NuzlockeBall Z. |

Apologies for the double post, but I started a new Nuzlocke and didn't wanna edit it into the previous post. I wasn't feeling the SoulSilver one, so decided to finally get around to purchasing one of the originals on the Nintendo eShop. I opted for Blue, since that's the first Pokemon game I played. It's actually been really cool because I haven't played the original Gameboy games in so long. So without further ado, here's the story so far: After taking a few moments to soak in the air of nostalgia, I grabbed the Potion from the PC and headed to choose my starter. With no trainer ID roulette, the choice was my own. The 'choice' was in name only, as I was always going to opt for Squirtle, the OG starter from back in the days when my Pokemon knowledge was in it's infancy. With no genders to speak of (how modern), I opted for the name Desmond and we embarked upon our journey to be the god damn best that no god damn body ever was. A short battle with resident dweeb Gary gave us our first victory and, after acquiring the Pokedex, we began to add to our party. First up was Violet the Nidoran (female, so much for modernity), followed shortly by Lucius the Pidgey. We entered the foreboding Viridian Forest, content with adding a bug to the team. Or so we thought. A flash of yellow caught the corner of my eye and out jumped a god damn Pikachu. One Pokeball later and Lily was added to the team. After some grinding, including a close shave leaving Lily the Pikachu with 1HP, we ventured back to Viridian Forest. The Pokemon gods were clearly regretting their decision to entrust on us a Pikachu, burdening us with not one, but two poison scares. Old game mechanics meant that there was no surviving from this affliction, however me made it to the Pokecentre on both occasions. Clearing Viridian Forest and those dreaded Weedle stings, we strolled into Pewter City, hungry for our first badge..... |

Awesome, it's been so long since I've played Blue Version. I'm not sure if I could either, as I'm so used to the improvements made since then. Got so many things you have to be careful with here. Things changed a lot since the old days. I still haven't gotten around to playing anything myself. Still quite busy these days. |

Nuzlocke Update: So, when last we saw our intrepid heroes they were about to take their first daunting step in their journey to become a certified Pokemon Master. After a quick backtrack to deal with Gary and his lame team, Mitas and his legion of 'mons returned to Pewter City to end Brock and his shirtless reign of terror. However, with water starter in tow, the battle itself was an anti-climactic one. Desmond the Squirtle blew a few bubbles and the deed was done. Brock handed over the Boulder Badge (along with the ever so useful TM for Bide) and it was onward to Cerulean City. The team marched forward to Mount Moon, whipping the asses of multiple trainers and adding a new team member to boot: Astro the Pidgey. Next up was the long and arduous trek through the mountain. Yet another Pokemon was caught, Katelyn the Zubat, and the team was finally full.....however it was to be short lived. The scallywags that take the moniker of 'Team Rocket' were doing......something and our heroes took it upon themselves to stop whatever that was without bothering to find out what it was they were actually stopping. The decision proved to be a fatal one for Lily the Pikachu, who finally fell to the almighty Pokemon Gods aka Game Freak, who decided it would be a good idea to throw a level 16 Raticate with Hyper Fang so early in the game. It required a team effort of Growls, Sand Attacks & Water Gun to take down the beast, but eventually it was done. A dark cloud hung over the remainder of the journey through Mount Moon, a melancholy that couldn't even be broken by a gifted Helix Fossil. It was only when Cerulean City could be seen creeping over the horizon that the team lifted their heads. They would not allow Lily to fall for nothing. Team Rocket would be destroyed, gyms would be demolished, and Pokemon League's would be crushed. |

Well, after a few months, I return and I'm going to see how far I can once again get through a Platinum Nuzlocke. Shockingly enough, the last time I did it, I managed to get all the way to the second battle with Cyrus. I actually at one point managed to beat Cyrus in the Distortion World but, admittedly, I kind of skewed the rules a bit on that point. --- --- Of course this isn't the only ones on there, we have our HM slave Bidoof, a random Psyduck and a Geodude but as I honestly have no intention of using any of them (unless something horrible happens to Marshtomp) They are basically potential meat shields. I recently managed to get the first badge Oreburgh, an easy task with the Marshtomp. Yeah I used a cheat to get that but only the Mudkip. Of course I outright refuse to challenge the first gym without having my Pokemon evolve first. That attack stat on Cranidos is a monster after all. Next in line is the grass gym, which of course means I'll be leveling up Starly for that and trying to get a few levels in for Shinx as well. Quite frankly, as long as nothing foolish happens, I feel confident in getting through the first three gyms. As always, wish me luck. |

I've actually been meaning to start a Nuzlocke recently, but keep putting it off for whatever reason. Now that this topic's been revived I think I'll start one later today. Good luck. Platinum AI are cheating bastards. |

Haha, you know that's true. --- --- I've gotten to Eterna City, but before I decided to go to the Grass Gym, I wanted to get the Explorer Kit and start looking for fossils. I heard I needed to do that to get the skull or Armor fossil (specifically Armor) well I tried and well, game wouldn't let me. So I decided it would once again be fair to do a little cheat and get a Wild Shieldon, Level 5. Of course I named it Sheldon, why would I? I'll soon be taking on the Grass Gym and with Laus (The Staravia) currently at Level 22, it's going to take something really bad for me to lose this. Meanwhile I'll build up Shieldon a bit. Having something with as great a defense as Bastidon (if I can get it evolved of course will act as a great wall in later battles.) Now that I have the Exp. Share, I can properly start leveling up the lower Pokemon. Edited by EMIYA, May 21 2017, 12:39 PM.

So quick update... Everything died. Was at the third gym, faced off against some dick sauce with a Haunter who decided to constantly Confuse Ray+Shadow Ball, taking off over half of Marshtomps health. Then it manages to get the effect where the special defense drop and soon enough, lost the starter. I still had the Staravia though so it wasn't all lost and for what it was worth, I did beat Fantina without much issue. No doubt thanks to spamming Double Team. But then I got to that stupid child Barry, and frankly this should not have been a tough fight. None of his Pokemon are Super Effective against staravia and frankly, once I get a few Double Teams off, I'd be good. We start off with his Staravia and I want to go for the kill. He often ends up double teaming that thing so I didn't want to take the risk of getting myself into that predicament. I was a level higher, I was faster, I had potions if I needed them. This should be an easy match. I get him down to about 9% of his health. it uses Endeavor, which drops me down to the same level of health, 9%. Annoying but, I'm faster, one wing attack is going to finish this up and I can put that Super Potion in. And the it uses Quick Attack, you know, the move that has higher priority. So I got a dead bird and the strongest mon I have is an Eevee (was going to try to turn it into a Leafeon later) So at this point, I'm fighting a up hill battle and it isn't looking good. I'm sending shieldon out against the likes of Buizel with its Super Effective Water Gun but amazingly enough thanks to the high defense of Shieldon, after a very rough battle with lots of potions, managed to beat the Buizel. And then we got to the Grotle, of course it starts Withdrawing and suddenly we're in this huge battle now. Shieldon can't take this thing on so we switch to an even weaker Bronzor. At this point it's a massive battle now to slowly whittle this turtle down with a combination of Hypnosis, Confuse Rays and Confusions. It takes the sacrifice of everyone, the Eevee, Gligar and Shieldon but we slowly get the Grotle down. By some miracle we managed to beat that. So right now, I'm with a Level 14 Bronzor, half health and two Super Potions left. Of course Barry's last Pokemon is a Ponyta. And we all know how much Steel types love Fire Types, so you can guess how this all ended. I know exactly what I'm going to do next time though. I'm going to get a Golbat/Crobat, have it know Bite and have it eat every last ghost in there. So back to square one again. |

The Nuzlocke is underway! I chose Pokemon X to fail at next and the Pokemon starter Gods decided to hand me a Froakie, whom I promptly named Arnold. We ditched the nerds, although not before decimating Shauna, her poor knowledge of type matchups, and her doomed to fail Fennekin. Fast forwarding through the motions, we waltzed up to Santalune Forest armed with Pokeballs, potions, and an unwavering desire to be the god damn best. The first addition to our motley crew turned out to be a Pansear, who I named Fonzy because he's cool as s***. Fonzy, however, was shortly followed by two not-so-cool additions: an Azuril called Rey and a Bidoof called Ralph. Still, nothing ever comes easy. We'll make warriors out of them yet. Next up: gym badge number one. Arnold, Lv.10 |
