If there's anything I wish to change, it's to have it easier to get Trade Only Pokemon.

I'm someone who just doesn't know people or couldn't get around to doing actual trades. I was incredibly lucky when I was a kid playing Red/Blue and I managed to get a Golem and Machamp through trades. At the very least, as more and more Pokemon are being put in including Trade Only Evolutions, it would be nice if some of the older Trade Only did become accessible in game.

It could even be post Elite Four business, and there's a story point where you can catch a Magmotar or something.

Back in the day, Danrich, Bex, Nagito, Sousen, Puccio, myself and more used to play an online Pokemon game where you'd basically build a team with whatever Pokemon you wanted. You could even customize their stats, abilities, and moves to your liking. We'd create a room and battle one another as simple as that. If I can find the download for it, I'll post it but, this could be a solution to what you're looking for.

I'm all for opening up the games, especially the post-Elite Four stuff. Or even an open world-type game, or a MMO. I just don't feel like the battles need to be changed. That's what Pokemon is for me, you change that, it's not really Pokemon anymore.
I disagree, a lot of games change over the years but they still remain the same series. Like Final Fantasy.

Not a fan of recent games to be honest but even though it's no longer 2D turn based RPG's, it's still Final Fantasy.

The Mystery Dungeon and Ranger games are testament to Pokémon's ability to do something different and still be fun.

It would be awesome if they could incorporate fun mini-games into Sun & Mun like the ones in Pokemon Stadium. Those were absolutely fantastic as they were incredibly simple in concept and execution, but fun and engaging all the same. I feel like the main games could benefit from injecting some of that awesome, lighthearted fun into the adventure. Say you needed to clear a cave of some very ruthless Digletts and the only way for you to do it would be throwing hoops at them (like the Diglett-Ekans game in Stadium), wouldn't that be pretty cool? I see those sort of mini games as a perfect way to break things down a little and offer diversity to your gaming experience. You kinda do that already with boulder puzzles and whatnot, so why not amp things up a little and create actual full-on mini games?

Just a thought.

Some stuff like that could be cool, anything that offers some more dynamic gameplay would be fun.

Like there could be times when large groups of Pokémon attack and you have to tap the screen to use projectile attacks on them. Instead of just battling like 5 identical Pokémon in a row.

Being more involved in the world like that would be interesting. Instead of just "I can't go that way I need to go find a thing that let's me go that way"

BTW, who else is hoping Mega Evolutions return for Sun&Moon? I'm afraid they might be replaced with the Alolan forms and I reallyyyy wanted more Megas. :(

The Alolan Kanto Pokemon don't even seem that interesting. Other than Exeeggutor (which looks freaking ridiculous) most of them don't have much of a design interest. Seriously, Iceslash is basically a blue palette swap of Sandslash.

Alolan Meowth is basically a blue Meowth.

At this point we're going to get "Aloan Gyarados" who is Part "Grass/Steel" and you know what we'll get? A Green Gyarados...maybe with a leaf on its head.

I think its pretty interesting to have different types of Pokemon we've known, but if you're not going to put in the effort to give them some unique design like you did Exeggutor, you might as well just have "Type-Stones" that you can give to your Pokemon to change their types.

At least Mega Evolutions give your Pokemon a unique look and doesn't change just them into a Palette swap.

I remember that, Pokemon Lake or something I believe? This was a very long time ago but it was great fun.

Pretty sure this was what King Gattsu was referring to.

I have a couple teams formed on showdown from when I used to be a lot more active in competitive battling. I'd totally be down for a match if anyone wants that.

How dare you. Alolan Sandslash, Ninetails and especially Marowak are god damn awesome.

I think that Mega is being replaced by Z moves in this generation. Z moves work in the same way as Megas in that you need a bracelet-type item to activate them. The impression I got from the Alolan forms is that that's just how they appear on the island. So you'll be able to find them in the wild like that. Sort of like in Gen 4 when you could find specific types of Shellos/Gastrodon on different sides of the region.

I like the idea of pokemon adapting to their environment because well, evolution is a beautiful thing and I'm all about it. But Alolan forms simply don't replace the awesomeness that Mega Evolutions brought. Megas were a brand new form meant to capture the ultimate potential of a pokemon, while Alolan forms for all we know are just a parallel variation of an already known Pokemon, so I don't think they will be changing stuff like base stats.

I hope we can have both.

I don't mind if they don't bring any new ones, but I will be a bit disappointed if they don't even bring back the old ones.

Idk, changing their typing is a pretty big deal. Plus, I assume they'll be changing the movesets to incorporate moves from their new typings. Both those things change up the Pokemon enough to affect how it's used in battle. They come with new abilities too.

I'm sure they will change the move pool and like I said, I like the concept. But it's still not technically the same as a Mega Evolution, which is why I'm hoping one doesn't replace the other.

I also don't think it would make any sense for them to introduce something as highly anticipated as a Fire-DRAGON Charizard, only to remove it or pretend it never existed in the next generation.
