Posts: 1,860 Group: Elite Member Member #12,337 Joined: May 18, 2015	I'm quite convinced the necessity for Potara is not in the extra power it wields, but the ease of which they can fuse. The Fusion Dance has never been directly said or implied to be too weak, but both of Goku's potential partners never learned the dance, and have both been under threat whilst they attempt to fuse. Then, once inside Boo, and not under attack from him, Goku then—and only then—suggests the Fusion Dance. Ergo, they need time and a degree of safety for it to be a viable option, which they don't have before or after this moment when wanting to fuse - hence Potara. He doesn't act like it's better than nothing, either, just that it's a good idea. Vegeta refuses on the grounds that it's ridiculous looking. I simply don't see power being an issue with it.
