I wanted to compile a list of things GT does better than Super, mostly because I feel GT is unfairly criticized in many cases. Feel free to join in the discussion, of course. -Super Saiyan 4 is conceptually superior to Super Saiyan God. -There are genuine stakes as GT takes place after Z. Super is inconsequential due to the fact it takes place in between 2 points in the series. Knowing how it'll end essentially destroys any genuine tension this series might have. -Gohan actually still trains. Not a whole lot obviously, but he at least has the common sense to realize that he can still train and be a scholar. -Better cast use, surprisingly enough. I mean, we already had 3 fun and interesting characters out of the gate, and folks like Goten and Gohan got something to do thanks to Bebi's early arrival on Earth. Hell, even in the Super 17 arc, everyone is cleaning up bad guys, who weren't Freeza soldiers. -Piccolo's death was much more emotional. -Goku is more tolerable. -Vegeta's character is handled better. I feel Vegeta has regressed at least somewhat in Super. I'm sure there are more that I'm not thinking of, but I'm sure there are more people can provide. |

-The concept of Super Saiyan Red to Super Saiyan Blue is superior in my opinion. -That's a good point but we still have no idea how the outcome of fights will be. The fights and enemies make far more sense than that of GT. -I believe that Gohan would not have trained after the events of Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super is doing a perfect job on Gohan right now. -The first cast was awful in my opinion. Goku got turned into a kid and was somewhat annoying, Pan is one of the worst characters ever in a Dragon Ball series, and Trunks was stupid looking and was a bit annoying himself. Goten and Gohan barely did anything except get beat up on. Even Vegeta became worthless until the end of the series when he's a Super Saiyan 4. Dragon Ball Super makes things better by actually putting Goku and Vegeta on the same level. They even give Piccolo a shot again after GT did nothing with him but kill him off. -More emotional but his death in Dragon Ball Super was still better. -I agree with that, Goku's character is annoying in Dragon Ball Super except when he's fighting. GT's Goku was annoying but not as annoying. -No, they disgraced Vegeta's character in Dragon Ball GT. They treated him like garbage making him very weak compared to Goku. The only good thing Vegeta did in the whole series was achieving Super Saiyan 4 and fusing with Goku. Vegeta in Super actually got a lot of awesome fights and was not treated like garbage, he's treated for the most part as Goku's equal. His character is handled far better in Super. |

GT does let the supporting cast have considerably more fights. In Super, the supporting cast have had exactly one fight, two in Piccolo's case. In GT, we do see Goten duke it out against Baby, Gohan go up against Baby Goten, Majuub fend off Baby Vegeta for a while, them saving Goku from Oozaru Baby, them sweeping up the villains in the Super 17 arc, and the others managing to stall Syn and Omega Shenron for a little bit. Baby is also a better villain than any in Super so far, and I feel like the designs of a lot of characters in GT are superior to those in Super(I like Ledgic and Rilldo's designs for instance much better than Botamo or Maggeta or Frost) |

How is Baby a better villain then anything in Super? He's basically a rip off of Hatchiyack and Buu combined. |

He's better because he has legitimate beef, and is a complex villain as a result of that. Bebi is not only better than all the villains in Super, he's probably one of the best villains in the franchise, period.

Better than DBZ villains? Never thought I'd ever hear that. I find him to be one of the worst by far. |

Well, yeah. The Dragon Ball Z villains are cool, but they're pretty one-note all things considered. |

Yeah and Evil Goku is just Evil Goku. Even DBAF had better concepts than that s***. |

They're evil for the sake of it, really. Piccolo Daimao, while in an incarnation of evil, doesn't have any motivation for his actions. Freeza, who let his power go to his head, doesn't have any real motivation behind his actions. Cell, while probably programmed to be evil, doesn't have much motivation behind his actions. And Boo is just straight up evil for evil's sake. Bebi on the other hand has a history with the Saiyans, and has a legitimate reason for the stuff he does. He's a complex villain like I stated earlier. Edited by ThePrinceOfSaiyans, Jul 21 2016, 02:17 PM.

Do evil people in real life really have true reasons for being evil? Most of the time no. Cell gained Frieza and King Cold's cells that's why he wanted to take over the universe as well. Why does a villain need a motive to be evil? That's not how it works in the real world and that's certainly not how it works in the animated world for the most part. Baby is a cheap copy of Hatchiyack, it was not an original idea. To add on to that his powers weren't even his own, he had to take over other bodies to gain power that's pretty pathetic. He's still a machine like Cell programmed to do wrong. Edit: Out of all of the GT villains Omega Shenron is by far the most original and best villain imo. Edited by Son-Goku, Jul 21 2016, 02:22 PM.

There are many DBAF "fanmangas", none of which have only one chapter, I think.
What does real life have to do with anything? We're talking about DBZ, dude. |

Most people that society have deemed evil think they're doing good, much like Bebi. Yes, some scumbags just want to watch the world burn, but I think most of the time it's the former. Bebi is only similar to Hatchiyack in his origins. His character is entirely different. Bebi is not programmed to do wrong, he's a free-thinking, intelligent being, which is what makes him stand out, and Bebi's ability to control others provides genuine stakes. How is he different from anything else though? 1. Created by tuffles (Hatchiyack) 2. A machine (Androids) 3. Wants revenge (Every one who came back) 4. Takes over others for power (Buu) |
