"I am the bone of my sword."

Actually you know what Goku is close to being? if we go by TV Tropes that is...

An Anti-Sue.

He's supposed to be a flawed character but is still treated as the greatest thing in the series despite that. For everything that's supposed to be called out on him, it's basically ignored in exchange for his greatness. This is honestly very close to what Goku has become in Super and even before. He's supposed to be a fighting genius yet solves his problems by universe punching them as hard as he can.

If even more than that, Super Goku fits along well as a "Neutrality Sue"

Goku is supposed to be flawed in Super but instead of focusing on these flaws, they are...as tropes basically says...hand waved. Especially considering that Toriyama wants Goku to be a neutral character who cares more about fighting than anything else, that just fits along nicely.

So yeah honestly, Super Goku has hit far more points as a Mary Sue-like character than I think most you realize. Why he may not hit the classical touches, the idea of a Mary Sue has grown well past the "Perfect and beautiful person who can do no wrong."

And the only thing really keeping Goku from being this is the fact that he at least does have a measure of character and personality and his flaws are least questioned sometimes even if they don't go anywhere. Still waiting to see if the whole Black Goku thing goes anywhere and maybe Goku will finally learn something and keep to it.

But yeah, Super Goku is hitting some hard marks here.
