Yeah I've already told myself I'm not watching more because freaking every movie has to spoil any twists or cool s***... Hope he does a proper big roar in the film, he and Godzilla need to have a roar-off. Or like Godzilla roars and Kong throws something in his mouth to shut him up, that would be hilarious. |

Not sure how I'd like that fight to go, if completely serious or if with a few jokes here and there. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

Well throwing something in his mouth would be pretty badass just funny at the same time. So long as they don't fart and s*** like that...please God no. Hopefully they don't decide the movies need more fun because lots of people disliked Godzilla. That kind of "fun" is a no. |

Just give Kong some giant swords and then giant 3D Maneuver Gear to zip around Godzilla a bit. |

I'm still hoping the path I imagined opens up, Godzilla or his radiation puts Kong in a coma, humans obviously lock Kong up...and make him weapons. That would be epic. I can't see them doing the lightning thing since it's a bit "out there" compared to the more gritty tone this universe has. But making him a giant sword or something ready for next time... |

I don't think Legendary would ever fall THAT low. |

Well, this movie was cool. If you liked the boring and dull remake from 2005 or whenever, this is not the movie for you. This has a quick pace once they get to the island, and there's plenty of action and deaths. Spoiler: click to toggle Bring on Godzilla. |

The 2005 movie wasn't dull, nor boring. It was colorful, it represented the 30s well, it was a love-letter to the original. All the extra things that expand the movie make sense. We get to know more of Ann Darrow, and how most characters came to become part of this adventure, we get new characters, we get more Kong and we finally see a more evolved and human side on him, he displays more emotion than ever and his end becomes more painful knowing he actually loved Ann, unlike every other Kong who were hypnotized by the girl's golden hair(and yes that's the actual explanation). That being said I'm still going to like the movie, even if it's just a giant monster-fest with nothing but action. I've seen enough kaiju movie like that and I'm totally okay with that formula, especially for this new Kong. |

So I just saw it, and I enjoyed it. All that being said, while it's a better movie than 2005, I feel like I enjoyed that one more, if that makes any sense. I'll add an in depth review in a tick. |

It was incredibly dull and it was superbly boring to me. I nearly fell asleep watching it. If you disagree, more power to you. This had more than just action. It had fairly good character development too. |

...What? Not one character came out differently than when they started save for that one soldier whose name started with an S and Packard, and the S soldier was hardly any kind of primary character. Packard was pretty cool though. All that being said, if you call that character development, then the 2005 one had it too. Anyway, my spoilers for the movie. Spoiler: click to toggle

2014 Godzilla was flop. Now 2017 Kong 2 flops gonna face off in another indie-filmaker helming 200 million budget wannabe Monsterverse BLACBUSTER only to come up with epic flop of 2020. Lets face it. Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong was an wholesome movie. Had suspense, had characters with their respective arcs, action, frolic fun & humor. Finale was hard to digest. Coming to THIS Kong, BIGGER but definetly mediocre. Thankfully, he was not playing guest role like 2014 Zilla did in his very own movie Still, there plot & scteenplay was absolute garbage. No matter how much budget pumped into CGI, locales, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel Jackson (who looks he landed in Kong just after playing gangster in) whats da use with NO interesting characterization? Ann Darrow in Jackson's 2005 Kong was by FAR most memorable character in any monsterverse movie, with Mako (Pacific Rim) coming close 2nd Hell, even generic sailors showed ACTUAL acting chops while all Skull Island had was histrionics, emojis, blank faces with "argh...wuahh" reaction whenever they're made breakfast off by Skull Crawlers, Mantis, Giant bugs etc 1 thing this Kong established superiorly to 2005 or original was the height. Kong was towering & based on the directors interview he justified the looking at "God" perspective. But even that was made (forced during pre-production presumably) just to bridge the Kong vs Zilla fanaervice. Why bother establishing franchise instead of focusing on delivering 1 goddamn memorable stand-alone movie for christ sake?! |

How was it not memorable? It had plenty of awesome moments, just back from it myself. The story wasn't as good as the 2005 film for sure but it was a lot more exciting a movie I found and it sets up the verse nicely. 2005 was an hour and 21 minutes longer so with the time they had here I think they done a great job. I didn't like how expendable some of the characters were, that to me is the most glaring flaw. Made sense though, we knew already that this mission would be covered up so you can hardly have like 30 characters witness all this and somehow nobody finds out. But it was also dumb in ways like... Spoiler: click to toggle And s*** me not I actually liked John C. Reilly's character, I'm glad they didn't make him overly goofy. He actually made me chuckle a couple of times. He was a suitable level of weird. Spoiler: click to toggle Also with the grenade thing Spoiler: click to toggle

On the note of Kong not being fully grown yet, we saw his parents' skeletons in the graveyard area, didn't we? And they didn't look much different from Kong himself. Unless the characters on the island somehow knew he'd far exceed his parents' size, I can't see how he'd suddenly grow another couple stories to compete with Legendary Godzilla's size. |

Well that's just skulls, their heads might not get that much bigger relative to the rest of their body. I'm sure he'll still be smaller than Godzilla but that's where his skill and intelligence comes in to play, which I feel they displayed nicely here. Kong as he is now beating Godzilla seems like nonsense, glad he'll grow. Presumably in experience over the next 40 or so years too. And also perhaps his parents weren't fully grown either, these apes probably live hundreds of years. Not sure it was explicitly stated how long they live. Spoiler: click to toggle Assuming Godzilla vs Kong happens in New York, it's probably going to be the most destroyed we've seen the place short of post-apocalyptic films
