Woah!!! Thoughts on this?! I'm going to be getting it!! ![]() $60 includes the mini replica of the NES, one controller, HDMI cable, and 30 games!!! If this sells well, it'll be a matter of time until a SNES Classic Edition is released!!! Looks like we'll be playing Zelda this holiday season after all!

Pretty cool definitely thinking of getting it, does it come with multiple controllers? Want to play stuff with the gf not too interested otherwise. Also can you get more games for it or is thirty it? Would be cool of you could buy cartridges for it

A definite purchase. Basically a console you can take with you in a small bag. |

Not interested. Not a lot in the library I care about. Great for people who like the system and games though. If only they'd do this with Master System. |

More info got released not too long ago. It does not open. It does not connect to any devices or the internet. It will not receive any other games other than the 30 stated. |

So it's nothing more than one of those 30 in one things you sometimes see but dressed up like a Nintendo? |

I'm Surprised they haven't; they've done handful of handheld Mega Drive collections. To be fair, it was never even a remotely popular console. |

That's not true. It sold between 10-13 million units. Granted Nintendo obviously sold way more than that but none the less I'd still say it was very popular, particularly in Europe. To add some anecdotal evidence, to this day I have never met anyone personally who owned an NES compared to three people including myself who owned a Master System. |

Wait what that's all it is for $60? Kind of a bum deal, what's the point if you can't get more games for it? You could probably just emulate all of them for free or buy an actual NES some on Amazon for £60. Granted that is more expensive than this thing but you can get as many games as you want then. Wouldn't be surprised if people make modded cartridges that hold way more games too. |

That's surprisingly quite a lot—I thought it would be half as much—but compared to the Mega Drive that was some 30 - 40 million, and I think NES was about 60, it's still a very modest console. I'm very surprised you've never met anyone who owned a NES. Most people I grew up with owned one or had a relative that owned one, and I know parents that have quite recently bought them for their children as a first console. I'm the only person I know personally that even knows what a Master System is - let alone having played on one. Edited by Sandy Shore, Jul 15 2016, 01:04 AM.

You shouldn't be so surprised. After doing a bit more research it seems that The Master System greatly outsold the NES not just across Europe as a whole but in the UK too. Reasons given are that it was cheaper and it had a lot of Mega Drive ports for it. Plus apparently the marketing was very good as well. Which is interesting considering how terrible Sega's marketing would later become. |

That's interesting to know, and not at all what I would have expected. |
