Novacane for the pain

With the Euro's over and actual competitions starting up, it's time for a shiny new thread for a new season.

Yeah, I almost just said 'Liverpool drew Argyle', but didn't want to jinx it.

Interesting how terrible a team can be just by changing a few players. I am referring to Leicester.

I think the fact that they were already guaranteed a top place finish also played into it, along with Porto needing a win to ensure qualification.

Big game for Liverpool tomorrow. Only won win for the month, and that was a narrow win over Plymouth. A loss against the league leaders wouldn't be the end of the world, and it's so tight from 2-6 that we're still in the mix for top 4 despite our poor run (and would be with a loss here), but we're in desperate need of some confidence at the moment to get us out of this rut and a good, winning performance here would hopefully do the trick.

Apologies for the double post, but I'll try reignite this again.

Similar to the above comment, although this is a much bigger game that would be a lot closer to the 'end of the world' if we lost. Obviously armageddon is hyperbolic, but we could very well find ourselves at the back of the top 6 if United beat Watford (and only 3 points ahead of Everton if they also win) before kick-off, so we can't let things get that troublesome. That coupled with the 'every added game without a win only makes the next one harder to achieve' air that a bad run of form brings means this is probably the biggest game of the season for Liverpool (biggest because top four is extremely important and a loss here severely dents those prospects).

This season is gonna be so freaking tight, perhaps with Chelsea being the only exception.

Yeah, it's crazy that two of Arsenal, City, United, Liverpool & Spurs will miss out on Champions League.

Not Premiership, but what a result for Lincoln against Burnley. First non-league side in the FA Cup quarter finals for over a 100 years.

Plymouth are one win away from promotion. Hopefully Newport don't provide too much resistance.

Not even that. Any draw in the last 4 games, or dropped points from Luton, clinches promotion. Great for the club though. Hopefully they can take that momentum forward and climb back into the Championship in the next few years.

I'm surprised Dirk Kuyt has been doing so well for Feyenoord in his two seasons there at such an advanced age.

I was extremely nervous going into the second half, right before we got the goal in the final minutes. Big weight off the mind because it felt like one of those games that was going to stay 0-0 for a long time. I'm happy with how our season has finished though. Champions League qualification gives us something to build on, more to play for next season, potentially attract better players and able to keep Coutinho.
