Favorite db/dbz character and why?; Who is your favorite character in db/dbz?

So I just felt like asking, who is your favorite db/dbz character and why? You can choose more than one if you can't decide. Mine is Kid Gohan, my reasoning is because that kid had been through some serious s***. When he was 5 years old he fought two powerful saiyan warriors and lived, and he traveled to a different planet and was face to face with one of the most powerful and ruthless beings in the universe. Also, ssj2 Kid Gohan was pretty bad a*** imo, he killed those Cell Jr's with no remorse, it kind of reminded me of when Kid Goku fought Tambourine, only Gohan was way above Kid Goku. It sucks what DB super is doing to him, but whatever, can't change it.

My favorite characters are Son Goku, Piccolo Daimao, and Pure Boo. Son Goku is a straight savage, and I like how if thinking about it, he isn't really a hero in the traditional sense. He's a hero more out of coincidence rather than by choice. He just doesn't happen to care about desiring destruction or total domination. I love the guy. It's also a treat to see him grow from a kid to an adult, as well as how entertaining it is to see him fight.

Piccolo Daimao was the smartest villain in the series. This guy was pretty smart for Dragon Ball. Eliminate the tournament participants so that there wouldn't be a single person to threaten him, he initiates this through the spawn of his children (specifically Tambourine) who targets the fighters and murder them (i.e. Kuririn). Then, when completing his wish, he destroys the dragon, to ensure it's power can't be used against him either. Piccolo was a smart guy, and gave me my favorite saga in Part 1 of Dragon Ball.

Pure Boo I love for his lack of restraint and his desire for just pure destruction. He was extremely entertaining despite not being around for too long. He gave me quite the good performance in his major battle against Goku, Vegeta, Mr. Boo, and Mr. Satan. I'll always love the fact that villains threatened to blow up the earth, while Pure Boo just went ahead and almost immediately did it upon his debut.

I'll cite my personal choice from a topic made some time back.

My overall favourite character? Gohan. I guess part of my reasons for liking him is because he's a stark contrast to his father. He's not some unstoppable tank with a clear-cut thirst for battle. There's chinks in his armour, he does have weaknesses, doubts, and he strives to do more than be just another fighter. I suppose that makes him more believeable to me versus the doubtless and unchanging do-gooder known as Goku. It's those same imperfections that give him an unappealing glare as a hero for many, but to each their own, in my opinion.

After Gohan, I would say Piccolo follows close behind, then Krillin/Tien (I'm conflicted on which one I like more), and so on...

Vegeta. There are a myriad of reasons I'm partial to him. First and foremost, he receives the most character development, and it feels genuine as it's not an overnight change. It legitimately took a while before he even started to change, and I like that it was ultimately Bulma that had the biggest influence on him. His character was also shaped by his struggles. Every beating forced him to learn something about himself and even his Saiyan heritage at times. I also like his general personality. The often stoic, short tempered smartass. This characterization lead to moments of Vegeta being a total badass, and there were times where this characterization lead to genuine comedy, especially so in the more recent material. Chef Vegeta is just the best  . Vegeta is also always finding ways to be relevant, even if he isn't the strongest. If it weren't for him, Boo might have actually won. And come on, Vegeta just looks plain cool  .
EDIT: Oh, and these are my top 5 characters, for s***s and giggles
1. Vegeta
2. Future Trunks
3. Son Goku
4. Son Gohan
5. Piccolo

My favourite character is Piccolo. The biggest reason is a simple one: his design. I love it. I also like the character development he showed through the series, his relationship with Gohan, his stoic nature, his intelligence. Great character.

Piccolo. The original villain-turned-hero, he's responsible for some of the most incredible fights in the entire series and probably also the wisest and smartest character, especially after the fusion with Kami.

The main reason I chose him as my favorite character is he's the first one to bring actual fear to the world (through King Piccolo), it was his minion killing Krillin that turned the manga into a more serious tone. A villain who can do that is always going to be appreciated.

My love for Piccolo was strenghtened through one of my former infatuations. A girl I liked also had Piccolo as her favorite character and it made me study his personality more and appreciate the complex and drastic change he went through in the beginning of Z and on.

He, along with most of the non-Saiyan characters, has been sideline which is a shame. Yet, he'll probably always be my favorite.

Honorable mentions: Kid Goku, Tenshinhan, Karin, Master Roshi.

Favorite characters are Goten, Yamcha, Goku, and Bardock. Goten is one of my favorites because he always reminded me of the way I was when I was a kid. Yamcha because he's always just seemed like a cool character . . . I just wish he'd win for once. Goku is arguably my favorite character, it helps that he is the main character and was usually the only character around in Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT made him different but he's still one of my favorites. Then there is Bardock, he definilty has one of the coolest designs in DBZ and I'm also usually a fan of the father of the main characters in Anime. They're usually a cooler older version of our main characters.

I'll separate db and z, as well as villains and heroes.

In DB, my favorite hero character would be Krillin. I found him the most easily relatable. He wasn't born in the middle of nowhere, he wasn't a former criminal turned warrior, he wasn't training to be an assassin, he was just some kid caught in the mix of a dojo brotherhod and treated poorly. He did become a warrior but it wasn't his only interest. He was much more human and down to earth than the other fighters, besides Yamcha perhaps but even he is a little iffy.

Favorite villain character is a toss up between Commander Red and King Piccolo.

On one hand, we have the mastermind behind the fearsome Red Ribbon Army. While not a fighter himself, he was the reason all those powerful entities were formed, at least presumably (not much was said on the forming of said army, at least not to my knowledge). And not being a real fighter himself made him fairly unique. While it didn't take much to kill him, it didn't matter; he's the reason Goku and co. struggled so. For that he was a great "boss character". While Black did take over at the end he didn't really leave much impact.

Now for Z.

Favorite hero character would be Gohan. The reasons are pretty much exactly the same as for Krillin: His human side. While he was willing to help out in battle when needed, it wasn't his ultimate reason to live. He wanted a career, an actual life. Because of that he really shines to me. He's one of the more complex characters in the whole franchise, funnily enough.

Favorite villain would be Doctor Gero. Very similar to Commander Red, he was the brains behind not only the Androids, but Cell as well. While Cell was undoubtably the muscle of the operation, if it wasn't for Gero he wouldn't exist.

Not only that, but what makes Gero very unique to me was his reason for villainry. He didn't do it for fame or ego, not even really for domination. He simply wanted Goku dead. The ultimate revenge tale, far as DB goes at least. For that he even goes above Babidi and Commander Red, who wasn't a destined rival of Goku.

So overall, if I had to choose just one hero and villain, Gohan and Gero get my vote.

Lol forgot to talk about KP. Oh well, some other time.

Gender Neutral, meaning I don't want to be specified to either gender. If you keep calling me by gender terms, I'm just going to call you an "it". That's all.

My favorite characters are Raditz and Yamacha. The reason I like Raditz is because he is very different from Goku ,his brother. He is arrogant, mean, sadistic and coward(sometimes) but that's the thing I like about Raditz. It's those qualities of him that made him more of realistic, believable and an understandable character when compared to lets say Goku or Vegeta or even Piccolo. Most people also usually seem to think that he doesn't have any "outstanding/good qualities". But, what most people don't know is that, Raditz was a survivor. And that was in fact his "outstanding/good quality". He was portrayed as he was shown in Z because of the environment he grew up in. And he adapted to that environment in order to live an another day.

Yamacha is also my other favorite character in the DB Franchise. I like him because he is the most developed(second to only Gohan) and the most experienced person (in terms of various aspects of life). Although, he is considered as a joke by many, overshadowed by almost all the characters and is usually portrayed as an archetypal sinner, but, it's those "bad/frowned upon" qualities of him that actually grew and added more depth to his character. It also made him more Human and a believable.
