Most of the gyms I've come across are either low-level and too far from me to get to at an opportune time, or high-level (aka unbeatable for me at this time) and right down the street. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground yet. I just need to get stronger.

By the way, I didn't know you could dodge and attack in coordination like that. That would've helped a lot in the last couple gym battles I had. Thanks for the tip.

No problem. You could probably take down significantly higher-level gyms with that technique, but I haven't tried it, so I can't swear by it.

Only a measly level 8, team Valor all the way.
Same here.

My strongest mon right now is a Seaking at 319 that I happened to find near a stop at a community college after I got out of a class. Lucky me. Haven't played too much but I've been getting into it more these past few days. I know people who play and often go out to parks and what have you so it isn't too hard for me to find people to play the game with.

Edit: Also, your blog entry was pretty helpful, OFG.

Got me a Vaporeon, so that's nice. I wanted a Jolteon, but this is good enough. Now he's my strongest and shall be treated as such. I've got too many eggs too.

Another tip: Vaporeon is over-powered in the game. He's leagues stronger than Jolteon or Flareon. A Vaporeon could beat even a higher level Jolteon with no problem for whatever reason.

Izanagi!

CP 297 Pidgeotto now, trained up the tiny Pidgey I caught at the very beginning.

We're gonna conquer gyms eventually, mark my words.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

How balanced is the game? I'd be much more interested if you could rise to the top with your favourite team rather than there be an absolute best.

Like is a CP 300 Pikachu utterly useless against a CP 300 Sandshrew or is it literally just a case of who has higher numbers wins?

I guess being simplistic has benefits.

Type does matter. There's still "not very effective and "super effective." But if you have enough strong members of your team, you can take down a much higher level mon. That's how I beat my first gym.

I hate driving and trying to play this. The GPS can't keep up, even on local streets, so it glitches all over the place and I miss mons/stops that are right next to me. But I guess it makes sense since this wasn't designed for too much laziness.

yeah dont waste your incense or any other good items locally, use it near a busy area, gyms, location with many Pokemon trainers, downtown ect... Used my first incense today while walking my dog got tons of pokemon but all trash VS when i went downtown the other day and later when i went to get food today there were modules with tons trainers and both resulted on many more rare Pokemon and stronger.

People already selling hacks for it, I don't get why anyone ever cheats in s*** like this it achieves absolutely nothing.

"Look at ma epic 100000000000cp MewTwo!"

Yeahhh no, you paid for that, quite obviously. Go outside and enjoy the damn game properly.

Hopefully they can crack down on the obvious cheaters.

They probably won't be able to get a good bulk of the GPS hackers.

Finally cracked the double digits and started catching more of the rarer mons. Hopefully I can catch up to my lvl20 friend within a week or so.

They say that game balance is next on the agenda. I really hope so because the CP system is very flawed at the moment. I'd advise heavily on saving stardust until then so they don't do some sort of wipe or adjustment leaving you feeling like you wasted Time on powering up.

So many people will feel jaded if they do a level wipe/reset. I can't imagine the backlash for it.

i cant find the time to play it lol. i'm either working or i'm out doing something that makes me not want to be on my phone. when i'm not doing anything, i just dont have the energy because of work or whatever. ive only specifically gone out for this like twice in a week, but for one of those times it was kind of conflicting with my cycling and i chose to just cycle instead of faffing around on my phone.

If I had a mount on my handlebars I'd use my cycle for it more often rather than my car.
