I'm kind of the same way. I can be on my phone all day if I'm sitting around the house, but it feels weird to be paying so much attention to my phone outside. I like to be aware of my surroundings, not narrowed in on my phone.

I agree with this sentiment too really. Mobile gaming is possibly the most boring term in the gaming industry imo and is pretty much a last resort - if I'm really desperate for something to play, I might play some inane puzzle game or something. When I'm out and doing things I'm hardly gonna sit around catching Pokemon or remember to check that. Plus I tend to get bored of playing the normal Pokemon games after a while anyway so I can imagine that being the same with this.

Also, this kinda reminds me of a Pokémon/Digimon knockoff called Invizimals where you can find tiny monsters in real life. Maybe Nintendo took the rip-off as an inspiration, since no one liked Invizimals.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Not out in canada yet pretty disheartening. But there's a similar 3ds game to this without the walking Im not missing out too much. Also more reas on to go outside, I'm more of a jogger but I guess I can walk and catch pokemon instead ( meaning I would be making less gainz which is ironic)

It isn't even just about "catching imaginary Pokemon" though, and I would argue that it isn't a waste of time at all. Reasons why Pokemon Go is a great thing:

1) It encourages people to get out and travel, and not just for the purposes of exercise. My boyfriend and I, rather than sitting at home all day wasting time, actually drove around, visited several locations (parks, shopping centers, etc.) that we never would have visited previously, and got to walk around and admire the scenery. We probably never would have visited so many places had Pokemon Go not been released. Lame, I know, but it's true.

2) It encourages socialization. Not only did we visit a bunch of different places, but we met a lot of cool people in passing. In the span of a single day, I had numerous social interactions with strangers that brought a smile to my face. You can team up and work together with people you never would have interacted with otherwise (in the real world, not online).

3) It encourages outdoor exploration rather than driving. If you're driving more than 30-35 MPH, no Pokemon will show up on your map at all, and it's extremely difficult to stop for Pokestops.

The game seems cool and all, but I don't think I'll be playing it really, not now at least. Actually, I could play it on my days off, but even on those days I'm a little busy

I'm Team Rocket all the way anyway :|

Not even convinced my s***ty phone will play this. It struggles enough getting the words and letters right when I'm typing on the keyboard at the moment.

I just tested it out today. It really does shine if you have a friend to play it with. It wasn't bad or anything, but I can't see myself doing that a lot by myself. Also it'll make you look less weird just staring at your phone all the time.

Most of my peers did this before Pokemon GO, atleast now they have something of an excuse to sidestep actually talking to me.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

I saw a review for Pokemon Go that said "as a game it is not very good, but what makes it great is that it motivates people to go outside". People realise they can go outside just for the sake of going outside, right?

I don't think you could understand how fun and unique this is without experiencing it firsthand.

I think I've got a pretty good handle on what it is. You can go outside and search for Pokemon in various places (among other things, but that seems to be the key feature).

Some people aren't motivated enough to go outside on their own.

Pokemon GO utilizes the "Oh, piece of candy" stratagem. Which goes along the lines of this...
