Would Gokan have been stronger than Vegito?

If Goku had successfully fused with Mystic Gohan with the Potara Earrings as originally planned, would their fusion have been stronger than Goku and Vegeta's fusion? The way the Old Kai talked about Goku and Vegeta's rivalry "making the fusion more complete", it seemed as though the writers were implying that Vegito was actually stronger (That's just my opinion from the conversation; they never actually said which fusion was strongest)

But Mystic Gohan was much stronger than SSJ3 Goku, and even somewhat stronger than SSJ3 Gotenks, so I would imagine to fuse with him would make pretty much anyone, let alone Goku, extremely powerful, even with no rivalry.
I'm getting very angry with you, and for me that is a very bad thing, so watch yourself.

I think physically he would've been stronger, but the fusion of Goku and Vegeta (Vegetto obviously) had a much broader skill set due to Vegeta being much more experienced than Gohan. Not to mention that Vegeta had his own set of skills that were completely different from Goku's; while Gohan's were very similar.

In addition to this, it didn't matter who fused because Goku fused with either Gohan or Vegeta would've been enough to topple Boo.

It's not always the physically strongest fighter who wins, and Boo had weird abilities that weren't ki-related, making his actual physical capability unpredictable, therefore I feel that Vegetto was a better choice despite a potential fusion between Goku and Gohan likely being stronger.

Gohan's Ultimate state being added with Goku's base form alone would've made him leaps and bounds more powerful than Vegetto, even with a couple of transformations too. Regardless of where you have Base Goku, that being added to Gohan's Ultimate form that surpasses Super Boo plus transformations or Gokhan's potential being unlocked automatically would make Vegetto look like a chump by comparison.

.
Very definitely!

Vegito could have quickly ended the fight if he hadn't been trying to get Majin Buu to absorb him. And when I say quickly, I don't mean 'Goku vs. Nappa' or 'Super Vegeta vs. Semi-perfect Cell' style, where one fighter dominates, but still takes some time for the other fighter to be defeated. I'm talking 'Goku vs. Recoome', 'Perfect Cell vs. Krillin' or 'Frieza taking out one of his minions' style; pretty much instant pawnage.

I was glad to see Buu getting his rear-end handed to him repeatedly though; it made for some humorous yet memorable moments. :D

Yes, but Boo's true ability comes from his magic, not his ki. Boo's completely unlike Cell or Freeza.

They could've made the strongest fighter in the Universe, but still could've lost due to Boo's magic based skills that no one could predict the capacity of.

You know I find this interesting because I always thought Fusion, Potara or the dance, combined both of the users maximum potential, and with Super, Vegeta apparently had a lot more in him. Not saying Vegito would still be stronger or not, just something I noticed.

From a purely fact based point. (Manga wise) We have Vegetto immediately transforming into SSJ without bothering to fight Boohan in Base, while Old Kai states that even a potential Gokhan's Base stat would be "ple~eenty" for Bootenks. Which suggests the gap would be tremendous.

Evil Buu - Gohan absorbed is stronger than Evil Buu - Gotenks absorbed.

I'd assume base Vegetto could take out Evil Buu - Gotenks absorbed, and the anime states he's still stronger than Evil Buu - Gohan absorbed. So I don't see too large of a gap honestly.

Gohan is significantly stronger than Vegeta, so I'd imagine that Gokuhan would be significantly stronger than Vegetto. I'm not sure how Vegetto could really end up stronger.

Yeah, Gokhan should be a lot more powerful than Vegetto, Ultimate or not.

The Rival Boast is only referenced once and is treated like the icing on the cake and that's it, so it shouldn't be that large...if it's large at all. I don't see the Rival Boast being larger than Gohan's power.

Personally, if Gokhan had happened I believe he would've just been Ultimate and that's it. Also, if he wasn't Ultimate then I have Base Gokhan>ASSJ Vegetto, or at least his Full Power SSJ(Since he never acts like he's at full power, at least in the Manga).

I dunno, the Old Kaioshin did label Vegetto as "definitely strongest" because of whatever undefined thing made Goku and Vegeta such good partners for Fusion. That tells me Vegetto was intended as stronger than any prior Fusion prospects, regardless of how little internal sense that makes with Gohan being so much stronger than Goku or Vegeta.

So I have this head-theory where "Kuhan" (better name than "Gokan," which is very close to a Japanese word for "rape") would end up with power that functions as some sort of hybrid between Goku's (99% of it from Super Saiyan) and Gohan's (100% without Super Saiyan). He'd have an incredibly powerful base form that's strong enough to handle Gotenks-Boo as predicted, but then his Super Saiyan would only double his power or something. He would max out still somewhat weaker than Super Vegetto.

Something like this...

Gotenks-Boo: 2
Gohan-Boo: 3

Kuhan: 4
-- Super Kuhan: 8

Vegetto: <1
-- Super Vegetto: 10

... Is how it would work out.

I pretty much give Gokhan and Vegito the gap that everyone else gives Gogeta and Vegito.

A SSJ4 Gogeta, SSJ3 Vegito and SSJ1 Gokhan would all be around the same tier to me if formed during the Buuhan fight.

"Kuhan" (better name than "Gokan,")
A matter of opinion I guess, but it's much better than "Gohanuku". That one was overkill. :p
