What does Brexit mean for the Premier League?
Footballers from the EU could at first freely join PL clubs, but with the UK leaving the EU they're going to have to ask for worker's permits aren't they? A lot less EU talent in the PL I'm guessing.

Novacane for the pain

We don't know yet, depends entirely on the type of deal the British government works out during negotiations. If they want access to the single market, which they do, they're going to have to accept free movement of labour (even countries like Switzerland and Norway accept this) so it wouldn't effect anything. If they don't accept free movement of labour it might become an issue, might not. They could make work permits really easy for footballers, actually it's very likely they will do. The EPL is probably one of the countries biggest economic draws, they wouldn't want to mess that up.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

I read somewhere that one of the big changes would be the signing of under-18 players from Europe. Here's the tweet from the article explaining why. Basically, the only reason Premiership clubs could sign 16-18 year olds from other European clubs was because they were part of the EU. Not sure whether that would be affected by a different exit agreement, but if not, then that will have large implications on British youth academies. Could be a good thing for British national teams though, since there would be an increase in opportunity for British youngsters.

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

It's pretty funny how you suddenly see all sorts of EU benefits after the UK decides to leave.
