Yamcha may have had a low power at the beginning of Dragon Ball but that doesn't mean he was weak. He was extremely powerful and gifted. There aren't a lot of main fighter characters that Hercule could beat if any at all.

As if there wasn't enough proof against that, with him nearly beating Kid Goku, going toe-to-toe with Tien, taking Kami by surprise, and defeating a Saibaman. It must suck to be Yamcha, but we already know that. The guy's like the Aquaman of Dragon Ball Z. And also, Mr Satan gets destroyed in the first round by Yamcha's pinky finger.

Yeah you're right, I just always thought Hercule was actually really powerful and it was just overshadowed by the Z-Fighters superhuman strength. After all, he is the world martial arts champion lol.

I'm sure it was intended for comedic purposes, but he survived getting hit by both Cell and Trunks. I guess getting punched into pillars would not really hurt him as you think it would. He's later shown to be almost dying from a bullet though, whereas early DB characters were shown to be durable enough to withstand bullets. He's not winning any rounds.
