Super Perfect Cell vs Ssj2 Kid Gohan; What if they actually fought hand to hand?

I usually have Gohan being slightly stronger, but I've been giving it some more thought, Super Perfect Cell literally used a simple ki blast and broke Gohan's arm. Now I know a lot of people say that he wasn't guarded, and he was able to keep up in the kamehameha struggle with one arm, but here's what I have to say to something like that -

1. Gohan wasn't off guard. He knew Cell fired a ki blast at Vegeta, that's why he tried to save him. He wasn't fast enough to dodge the blast, and he got f***ed up as a result.

2. There is no real argument for the beam struggle...

Anyways, what do you guys think? This whole thing confuses me, but then again a lot of things about dbz confuses me lol.

My point on such a thing will always be the same. Cell has more than shown himself to be very close to Gohan. He's he one doing all the damage to him, he's the one breaking his arm, docking half his ki and shattering his spirit. He's the one laughing during the beam duel and ultimately he's the one who needs to be distracted so that Gohan can release everything on him.

Like, nobody in their right mind can tell me Cell isn't on par with Gohan.

Even when I have Gohan having the power advantage, it's barely notable and Cell's vast superiority in skills and techniques just pushes Gohan to defeat.

So yeah, in straight up hand to hand combat, the relatively talent less Gohan whose only known attacks are the Kamehameha and Masenko, is going to have quite a lot of trouble with Mr. 50% chi blasting, Instantaneous Moving, bust a move from several characters including his father, regenerating bastard...who no very much has the power to screw him over.

I'd give it anywhere between 6 to 6.5/10 in Cell's favor who through this insane combination of being well...Cell...manages to ultimate defeat Gohan with most of his eternal organs switched around and his wings shoved down his throat.

1. Gohan wasn't off guard. He knew Cell fired a ki blast at Vegeta, that's why he tried to save him. He wasn't fast enough to dodge the blast, and he got f***ed up as a result.

2. I believe Cell was holding back during the beam struggle, maybe because he wanted to make this battle last, he was pissed at Gohan for kicking his a*** beforehand. What caused Cell to lose was when Vegeta caught him off guard, but then again the kamehameha was enough to completely decimate Cell, so who knows, Gohan may have been stronger, or he may have just gotten a motivation boost from his father. I really don't know, that's why I'm asking for opinions.
1) He wasn't off-guard in the sense that he didn't know a blast was coming, but he was certainly unguarded. He couldn't get there in time to block it, or swat it away, and so he threw himself in-front of it to save Vegeta taking the hit. You say it was a simple ki blast, but if a simple ki blast from base Vegeta is enough to knock an unguarded Cell off his game, then it follows that a simple ki blast from Cell can do some serious damage to an unguarded Gohan.

The gap between them if far, far smaller.

2) What evidence is there of Cell holding back? He was willing to fire the Kamehameha without Gohan putting up any further resistance, as evidenced by his shock when Gohan starts charging, so he's ready to kill, and so why would he hold back his blast? That's not to say he's giving it absolutely everything he's got like Gohan is just to keep Cell at bay, but it's not once stated or implied he's holding back.

Additionally, I think Gohan's full power must have been over Cell's in order for him to destroy him. A few chapters previous, Gohan effortlessly returns one of Cell's Kamehamehas, but the power required to do so was only enough to mangle Cell when it connected. So, in order to destroy Cell, Gohan needs to, not only use enough power to overpower Cell's blast, but then use even more in order to destroy every inch of him.

In H2H? Gohan gets kicked around like a rugby ball.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

I think Gohan's skills are underrated by the fans. Remember how Krillin was apparently put on the ropes during his mental sparring session with Gohan? The only reason people have such a low opinion of Gohan's abilities is his lack of even leveled fights. What makes Cell so much better? Having Goku on the ropes? There was a clear difference in power. About the only things giving Cell a leg to stand on here are his techniques like the Instant Transmission and Taiyoken.

I have them very close in power overall, but I believe that FP SSJ2 Kid Gohan is just slightly stronger than SPC, but the difference is so miniscule that it doesn't even matter. If this is a fight then I think Cell would win, Gohan is stronger but the difference isn't big enough to overcome Cell's superior skill, techniques and regeneration.

I also think it should be pointed out that regeneration takes a toll on ones energy reserves and Cell had to regrow his entire body. Creating this situation where he gained a massive Zenkai but also probably lost a considerable amount of energy getting himself back together. Its entirely possible the Super Perfect Cell we see in the manga is one who isn't truly at his full power.

This is somewhat supported in the series itself when you remember its still Gohan being used as the benchmark to pass from the previous arc, not Cell despite the fact Cell most definitely would've been the stronger of the two after his Zenkai as he's already noticeable more powerful than Gohan's MSS form.

Gohan should still have no issues defeating Cell. He would take the fight far more seriously than earlier.

I deleted my 2nd point of view, as you are right, there is no evidence of him holding back in the beam struggle.

It's a pretty hard, very elastic stretch to try to say Cell wasn't a t full health. He was already within micrometers of death and was nothing short of luck that the one piece that needs to regenerate survived. Add in the fact that he not only gets his perfect form back, but gets powered up and attains Instantaneous Movement and there's little doubt he came back good and new.

Also while Cell's appearance directly takes note of Gohan's own SSJ2 form, what with the intense aura style and electricity, don't forget that this is not a transformation. So the amp for SSj2 Gohan isn't necessarily going to be the same amp that Cell's zenkai gives him.

Still, when Goku blows up half of his body, they both admit that he took a hit in his energy reserves regenerating himself. I don't think Cell lost like half the power he could've gotten or something along those lines but its entirely possible that, in-spite of receiving the Zenkai, he still had to lose some juice to grow himself back.

At the worst, Cell is equal to Gohan. I have him stronger than Gohan.

He was pretty confident he could beat Gohan, plus gohan's comment on how Cell got much stronger.

So yeah, even if they were evenly matched, Cell would still win as he's the superior fighter.
