Did anyone else play this game? It was an absolute blast to play, and still holds up well today. The only problem? The incessant crashes in the space stage and the fact that trying to play it on Windows 10 is like juggling knives.

I enjoyed it up to the tribal stage. Then it got very boring for me. I didn't think there was enough variety in how you could evolve either. Like you couldn't be a flying creature, you couldn't live under the sea, you couldn't be really huge and you couldn't be really small.

(Didn't I make this thread about a year ago? Good to see this game's still popular, at least I hope so)

I believe there was a sea stage that got cancelled. Don't quote me on that one, I'm probably wrong.

Spore is fun. I still play it to this day, because I haven't been able to complete the space stage yet, and I just met with the Grox a few months ago. I'm trying to stay away from those bastards. Oh yeah, and conolozing planets? A pain in the a***.

The creature creator part is the best. So fun, I never get tired of doing nasty abominations with a buttload of limbs.
The Cell and Creature stages were my favourite, those were the only stages where I had A LOT of fun, the rest were okay.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Leve Feyenoord 1!

The problem for me was how some stages were so short compared to others. Cell stage can be done in 5 minutes, then the creature stage takes way longer. Then you get to tribal and city stages which again take way shorter. And then you get to the space stage which doesn't really ever end.

Still a very fun game though.

I remember allying the Grox once. Took a s*** load of gifts and it wasn't worth it at all. Turns out every other planet suddenly hated me because of that alliance. The game almost crashed from the tons of messages from every race starting wars with me.

Spore taught us that space is full of douchebags.

You can actually make your creature fly with the wings. Not long distance, but long enough. And there's quite a bit of height variety possible between 3 meters and less than a meter tall, though this usually involves giraffe like builds vs insectoid builds

True, but their ships are the best out of any empire and if you've outfitted your colonies with uber turrets, then it should be fine really.

In any case, the biggest shame with Spore(the license)is that every port of it was terrible. The only good thing about Spore Hero was that Zarkhator actually looks kind of cool, but beyond that, it was consistently awful
