Kai = World.
O = King.
Shin = God.

So it's "World King God", right? The DB wiki says "World God King" (must be incorrect), so I'm a little confused. Can any Japanese speakers here confirm it's "World King God" for me

Japanese to English is really hard because the grammar is different.

World King god? Sounds a little weird. Maybe god of the Universe or something. Idk but they're supposed to be gods of Creation.

Yep, you're on the right track. Breakdown of "Kaioshin" here directly from Good Sir Herms:

Quote:

Kaioshin
As said above, “Kaio” means “King of the Worlds”. 神/shin means god, making Kaioshin essentially mean “God of the Kaios” or “God of the Kings of the Worlds”. As Piccolo says in the series, he’s effectively the god of the gods.
Name Spelling: 界王神/Kaioushin

Viz's translation of Kaio as "Lord of Worlds" and then Kaioshin as "Lord of Lords" wasn't too bad.

That didn't come until Battle Of Gods. "God of Creation" is the translation to Sozoshin. The translation to Kaioshin, the original name, is World King God.
