I think its fair to think that Vegeta didn't expect Goku to have SSj2 and was thus using it as a sense of trump card. But that's also what I mean from my other part. If Vegeta knows he's weaker than Base Goku or SSJ Goku (Yakon) then shouldn't that be the same for Burst Goku? What I'm getting at is that, the only way Vegeta could be stronger than Burst Goku is if he somehow manage to suppress whatever the amp for the SSj2 burst was. So if Goku was, for argument's sake using 80% of his power against Yakon as an SSJ, then by turning SSj2, he should then be using a burst of 80% SSJ2? And therefore in relative to each form, Vegeta is weaker than said 80% Goku. |

Vegeta being at around 80-85% of Goku seems pretty fair to me. A much smaller gap wouldn't put Vegeta into a state of mind where he definitively thinks he needs his potential to get unlocked to beat him. |
