Internet Explorer Favourite Manga Dragon Ball Z	Yeah, there isn't any evidence saying they're weaker than Frieza and the Boo arc pretty much spells it out that all Base Saiyajins have surpassed Frieza(Since Goku, Pre Majin Vegeta and Gohan are grouped together, but earlier we see that Gohan, Trunks and Goten are also close in power, so they also have to be part of that group), there's really no way for them to be that weak. Also, nothing has ever been stated or implied about any magical number stacked on to the SSJ Multiplier, so if two Saiyajins are comparable in SSJ, then they are also comparable in Base.

Official material (Super and BOG movie) state that GOKU is weaker than Frieza without SSJ - the kids aren't anywhere near his power. So the Son Goku special is right.
