Linking the premier instead of the cinematic trailer because let's be honest, they didn't show a single thing there. to skip the trailer just go straight to 4:44. Now I actually enjoyed Watchdogs, I love the idea of being that kind of super hacker vigilante, I loved manipulating the city, whenever I went into a mission I basically tried to make it so I hacked as much as I possibly could. I loved that idea, I kind of hope we get more games like that and gunpoint that focus on this sort of idea around hacking the environment and such, I enjoy that aesthetic greatly and I felt Watch Dogs delivered on that. Of course I also completely avoided the hype around it and bought the game on almost a whim rather than getting hyped up and such. Hopefully they don't repeat that mistake with the sequel and don't downgrade the graphics and ruin the computer version and all that. It's gonna be nice to see San Francisco I think. Honestly I think Watch Dogs 2 will be good, I'm hoping they don't overhype it to hell like the last one (I guarantee it wouldn't be a black mark on ubisoft if it weren't for the hype). Honestly as long as I'm able to act out a vigilante hacker type guy I'll be happy, I'm that guy that would actually want to control a vehicle remotely. That said I'm fairly certain that their attempt to represent internet culture will be... Interesting to see ![]() What do y'all think of this? |

Is the first one worth it ? I didn't pick it up because of all the talk about the performance issues. And, I'm pretty sure it would get overhyped and not deliver. just my two cents. |

I played it on consoles, and I'm probably getting on consoles for this one considering the disaster of a port Watch Dogs was. Seriously, the graphics we're downward and this ended up breaking the game. Yeah, but I think it'll be good for what it is you can avoid the hype Ubisoft is gonna try and spin. |

I bet you it's gonna be a half game that needs to be completed by DLC and riddled by bugs and glitches. at least incorporate this bug with the game:

Funny, because Watch Dogs lasted a bit too long actually instead of ending at a natural point. |

IIRC, It received harsh criticize in the PC Community. I wanted to buy it, but then I heard about performance Issues. it definitely didn't last in PC. |

I'm somewhat optimistic for this since I felt the first game had some fantastic ideas it just poorly executed them and didn't live up to...most of the promises that were made about it. To me the biggest problem was the story and a huge factor of that was the main character, there was little reason to care about him at all. If he wasn't a criminal his niece wouldn't have died, for the 10 hours or so I put up with him moping about how it's everyone else's fault I just wanted to punch him in his whiny face. So if the story in 2 is good? Hell yeah, I dig it. Hopefully they don't lay the whole "growing up in the 'hood'" trope super thick we've had that plenty with GTA. To me though the footage so far is...sketchy. It's like they're making a big deal about how AWSUM the new combat system and depth of the hacking etc is to distract attention away from the story which will again be bluegh. Also hope hacking is less of a big deal...(that sounds dumb as heck) As in I want non hacking based solutions to things because it becomes a tired gimmick after a while, I want to have to use my brain instead of "it says to press square...oh, I win!" Lot of games seem to come up with interesting mechanics like that but then they just become dull because you have to use them for e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. Anyway my prediction is that it will be much better than the first game but make the same or less money/impact because barely anyone has faith in it. At least situations like these make people realize pretty graphics aren't everything. |

Honestly I'd probably have it mix honestly, in such a way that hacking takes a bit more than what we have now, even if it is easy it's easily the most unique way to play Watch Dogs compared to sneaking or gunning, which I have other games for in that respect. It might be a bit easy but I'd say the aesthetic and enjoyability of just ghosting your way through a mission makes up for that in my opinion, to be honest I'll probably end up restricting my play to nonlethal only, maybe even melee only (sans hacking). Honestly I'm hoping that it's advertised realistically (more so than the previous one at least), doesn't get a downgrade that breaks the PC, and if it's good that it's rewarded for that, because I honestly really like the idea of this game.

Yeah the hacking should stand out over sneaking or going full GTA, hopefully it's not just "press square to do everything" those hacking puzzles were pretty easy too. I think hacking being in real time kind of limits it too, since you only really have time to hit one button to make bollards come up or whatever while driving. It'd be cool if time slowed down so you could effectively choose what you want to do. You could be a lot more creative then, instead of just gunning it towards places you know there will be bollards and whatnot. Also I hope we can't steal from nice people this time... "This person volunteers at a soup kitchen, guess they don't need this $500 then!" Was kind of...odd, when you're playing something of a hero. Taking money from people who killed a dolphin was always awesome. Possibly punching them a bit too. I love a lot of the concepts of Watch Dogs, it's a shame they're in the hands of Ubisoft. No doubt the downgrades and such are their fault rather than the developers themselves. |

Was anyone doing that? I mean I was one of the few people that liked the first one so I think I'm being realistic here (though lol on doing something stupid like preordering it. Or getting it on pc before seeing if it's a competent port). Again I'm just hoping the game good enough and that they don't overhype the damn thing until It's incapable of meeting expectations. Also Steve to be fair Aiden himself is more a vigilante than a 'hero,' I can see him doing some bad things, granted there is a bit of dissonance if you essentially rob everyone. |

Yeah for me this is a "I'll buy it on sale or weeks after release if people say it's a huge improvement" sort of game. Or a "nod of approval but don't actually buy" game, depends what's out at the time... Ah, it's out in November...yeah probably not buying it then. Actually that is crazy of them so many good games are releasing around then no way will it contend with the hype, even CoD will trounce it. Unless it's absolutely amazing that's surely a bad move. |
