Frieza or Cooler? Who do you prefer?

Posts: 879 Group: Member Member #13,278 Joined: June 5, 2016 Gender Male Country United States	Yes Cooler isn't canon, blah, blah, blah. But I'm talking in terms of character, who do you prefer? For me, I always liked Cooler and hoped he could've become canon and be the one to face Goku in ROF instead of bringing back Frieza again. He's a lot more humble compared to his brother and he doesn't play around. Instead of toying with his enemies, he makes sure they're dealt with. Take for example when he shot Goku out of the sky, he knew right away that blast couldn't kill him and made sure his henchmen searched every inch of the place to find him and end him. And even if they couldn't find him, blows up the place until there was nothing left. Also when he went up against SSJ Goku and realized he was clearly outmatched, he decides "f* it" blow up the planet instead of drawing out the fight. Edited by breaker335**, Jun 11 2016, 08:14 PM.

As a result of this, I'd have to say I prefer Freeza, but Coola certainly has a more appealing design.

I'll admit he's a great villain, the most iconic in the franchise by far, but Cooler was a whole lot more interesting to me. He wasn't just another guy who wanted the Dragon Balls just to get immortality, or something like that. Toriyama should've emphasized how terrible Freeza would've been if he had succeeded, because, unlike King Piccolo and his wish, we never got to see how immortality works, and how threatening it would've made him. We saw what happened with Garlic Jr, but I doubt Toriyama had that type of immortality in mind. Cooler served his purpose as a guy who wanted to prove his race was the strongest, but his cocky attitude got in the way. Plus that 5th form is beast. Seriously, look at that thing. Gotta love that Beyonder armor. And also, Metal Cooler is far more badass than Mecha-Freeza.

Mozilla Firefox Favourite Manga Hellsing, Elfen Lied, Trigun Maximum	Cooler and Freeza to me are like Fat Boo and Super Boo. Cooler and Super Boo for me are just cooler looking characters who really express their badassery in their movie and never get a chance to feel outdated or mocked throughout their showing. They ooze coolness, sometimes in the case of Super Boo, in direct contrast to the more innocent and jovial Fat Boo. However neither Cooler nor Super Boo have anywhere near the same level of characterization or impact that either Freeza or Fat Boo have. It may not make them as cool (which is questionable on Freeza really) as Cooler/Super Boo, but they are much more interesting. It doesn't help that Cooler really is just a rehash of Freeza, just more collective.

I ♥ Yoeri Posts: 20,075 Group: Legend Member #8,985 Joined: February 7, 2013 Country Japan	My love for Freeza has grown substantially the last couple of years due to Chris Ayres' portrayal of him in DBZ Kai and further projects. He gives him a sophisticated persona that can easily grow to that of a tantrum-ish child. While Freeza could easily be agitated and was prone to "playing with his food", Cooler was in more control of himself and calmly wanted to make sure all of his foes where eliminated before assuming anything. Cooler could be seen as more of a hitman than Freeza that just wanted things done quickly, still he was suspectible to mistakes. Anyway, I think for now I have Freeza above Cooler as far as character goes, though I think the latter is more badass.

What Browser do you use? Google Chrome	Anyways, forget about my above post. I actually prefer Frieza, though Cooler looked more epic in his final form, Frieza actually had an impact on the series. I don't like what RoF/Super is doing to Frieza though, he was an excellent villain in dbz, but his time should be over with, Trunks slaughtered him and that should be the last of him, IMO.

Cooler couldn't be made without Frieza being made first.
