You know, I see a lot of fans, mostly on Kanzenshuu, express a distaste for strength debates, and often write strength and battle powers off as unimportant. I can see why the former is off-putting, some people are simply very condescending and generally rude, however, I personally don't understand this mentality that strength and battle powers are unimportant. Simply put, a fictional world needs to be internally consistent in order to be engaging. If a fictional world is not going to follow its own rules, why should I be invested? Inconsistencies of any type are bothersome, and if the writers don't care about this stuff, or are too lazy to be bothered with it, why couldn't Kuririn of all people defeat Beerus? After all, the established strengths of these characters don't matter, right? I understand that inconsistencies exist across all of Dragon Ball, but most can be plastered over with a little imagination. The same cannot be said for something as black and white as the issue of strength. You're either stronger, or you aren't, which is why strength inconsistencies are generally more frustrating or bothersome. I hope I was able to highlight why this is such an issue for some. |

This is true indeed. Another thing, it also feels cheap on occasion. For instance, when Beers is revealed to actually not be using ten percent against Vegeta, the viewer's expectation of some kind of epic duel with him are suddenly shot down because no one is close |
