The last time I legitimately got hyped to play a game was back in 2010 when Black Ops was about to come out, I needed it, craved it. And for what it was, I feel like I got some good bank for my buck there (granted it wasn't myself that paid for it, was given it by my Mom and lived in my parents' basement. Hardy har get your laughs out now) But the issue was that I was never really hyped to play a game after that. Terraria maybe, but that fad lasted about a week after buying it. Burned out.

Overwatch however has caught me in its vice grip ever since I played the beta back when it was open, I have never played something so gripping without a nostalgia factor involved. Something about the different variety that I can get that I can't get with something like Smite or LoL or Dota. Those games have me absolutely lost, and it locks you into a role you're supposed to learn that I had no f***ing clue about. But I was able to play Soldier 76 and do well, I was able to play as Tracer, and while I'm not good since I'm not about that swift rush lifestyle, I was able to rack up a positive feeling inside like i had contributed. And Reinhardt... oh Reinhardt, my love.

Everything about it felt... refreshing I think is a good way to coin it. I honestly am somewhat bored with grim-dark COD and Battlefield (granted I'm looking forward to BF1) and Metal of Honor. All of those games take themselves WAY too seriously, and the fact that many games tried to take a slice of that same pie meant there were a lot of similarities in just subtle things like washed out and dark colours. This is the same problem I had with Skyrim, it's too dreary. I can be told I'm a badass as much as possible through the A.I. but I won't start believing that until I can pierce the sky and bring in some goddamn sunlight. Overwatch however is colourful, it appeals to the eye-candy I want in a game. It's hilarious, it doesn't take itself too seriously in-game.

Now as I save up, I feel like at the very least I'm going to get what I want for once.

Yeah Overwatch is a game that really caught my attention before it came out. I didn't get into any betas but I was really interested in getting the game when it released.

I love the wide variety of different characters, their designs and abilities and also the subtleties in how to play them off against each other in matches. It's a really colourful game and there's tons of aesthetics to unlock for each character which I hope they keep adding to. I also hope they introduce more levels and match types.

Does anybody have any favourite heroes?
