Anyone else think the Slovakian goal keeper looks like Krieger from Archer?

I can actually see what you mean now. Certain camera angles.

And yeah, Russia have been poor all tournament. Even drawing against England they looked s***.

Glad Whilshire is off. He's an accident waiting to happen.

How does everyone feel about the third place thing now that the group stages are almost done? Do you think it's affected the tournament at all, negatively or positively?

For me personally, it's taken some of the excitement away from the group stage games. There's no real urgency for teams to get results and I feel like that's also made teams play more defensively, which isn't particularly fun to watch.

Is the best of two evils I guess.

16 teams was simply getting too small for the Euros, and 32 teams is too much. 24 is ideal, and the only way to make that work is with the current system.
I don't like how teams are much more satisfied with draws as 4 points will guarantee a spot in the next round, but then again I do like how this system has given us the opportunity to watch teams like Iceland and Northern Ireland compete. It makes the last round of the group stage less interesting, but the knockout rounds will remain unaffected.

Yeah, I'm sort of just waiting for the knockouts to start now, although this Croatia/Spain match is a good one.

The goal keeper probably would have saved it anyway as it was right at him but did he break the rules when he came off his line in the penalty?

Tournament is back on today after a couple days off. Three games: Switzerland/Poland, Wales/N. Ireland & Portugal/Croatia. All should be good games. Switzerland & Poland are both fairly decent teams and the same could be said for Portugal & Croatia (which I'm really looking forward to). Wales/N. Ireland will be interesting just because it's good to see two UK teams face off in the last 16.

i'm going for Poland, Wales and Croatia to qualify.

I agree with you. Too bad I can't watch the final match of the night due to a scheduling conflict and I don't like to record live events.

Going for the same ones.

Switzerland/Poland was pretty much a draw for me before the tournament, but Poland has been more impressive so far than Switzerland, so I'll go for Poland there.

Northern Ireland has done nicely, but Wales is just better.

Croatia - Portugal should be very close, but I'm hoping Croatia can get a win here.
