The Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park 3 (aka Jurassic Park ///) is undoubtedly the single most controversial dinosaur in the entire franchise. Many heated debates have emerged from the mere mention of this beast. It showed up out of the blue on Isla Sorna, killed a Tyrannosaurus rex to signify it was the new Big Bad, chased the humans halfway across the island, had a fiery showdown with them in the river, and then was never seen or heard of again. There was a skeleton of a Spinosaurus propped up on Main Street in Jurassic World, but it's a more scientifically accurate representation of the animal as it would be in real life rather than the misinformed Godzilla-like specimen in its debut film. It was not on InGen's list, nor was it planned to be an attraction for Jurassic Park (though it was one of the dinos on the Holoscape at Jurassic World), which has created some mystery behind it. Recently with the release of JW and its hybridization concept, it's been suggested that the Spinosaurus is some sort of hybrid or "accident," though it's all still very speculative...

SIZE

As with some of the official material, contradictions exist for its size (as you'll see below), but the most used measurements are 43'9" long and 16' at the top of the head/20' at the top of the sail. That makes it the fourth largest carnivore in the franchise behind the Mosasaurus, Indominus rex, and Rexy. Not bad all things considered.

---------------

Love it or hate it, the Spinosaurus is a pretty badass creature, and I wouldn't mind if it showed up again in a future JP movie.

The crocodile in Peter Pan. It's a pretty big allusion in the movie given how they could detect its movements through the ringing of the phone as well as the fact that the Spinosaurus had a few crocodile type scenes

What happened to "Spinoslasher"?

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.
