I'm not saying they shouldn't show black people enjoying their product but perhaps they could have done it in a less stereotypical fashion?

There are people of other races doing the exact same thing in the background (roller skating with a bucket of chicken), the advert just so happens to focus on the black family. Like you said, they can't just not show black people eating chicken in their adverts.

Turns out Australia's stereotypes are much different than the U.S.' As are many other countries. As for the advert in question, depicting a black person eating chicken isn't inherently racist. What they make them do, what they make them say, what is said to them determines if it is racist. Now just having watched it, the music doesn't suggest anything, the guys going around on roller-blades, is in a good-mood and is lightening everyone's mood just by being as happy as he is. But it's not done in any overbearing fashion to show that he's literally f***ing crazy for chicken. So, no, it's not racist.

If ya wanted to do anything about it, you'd have to ban any kind of acknowledgement or 'racism', which, in and of itself, is kinda funny. You'd be saying that nobody could show, say, a black person eating chicken because it was reinforcing a stereotype, suggesting that black people can't deal with stuff like that.

Even if they were purposely playing on the stereotype, I don't see how it's a bad thing. "Black people love chicken" isn't an offensive stereotype. It's just kinda like...."okay then?". It's not like "All black people are criminals", which is a legit insult.
