Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I'm going to for nostalgia sake, until it gets awful.

I really wonder how they're going to handle things like "Schwing" and just some of Hisoka's stuff in general.

If it's extremely censored I might stop.

Currently the voices are fairly okay. They might as well just call Kurapika a woman at this point though, at least the Japanese actor could just be a feminine dude

Hisoka is actually not too bad so far, thought they'd go for an overly English voice or something.

Killua for some reason reminds me of Frieza...
Like a less raspy version.

Anyway yeah it's not too bad. The names being mispronounced is a tad irksome though like I'm not Japanese how come I can say Gon properly...?

One of my favourite moments is coming up around episode 20 so going to try decide then based on how it's handled.

I think it can be incredibly hard to watch a show in English after listening to it in Japanese.
The differences in how things are done can irk me quite a bit.

I think that as much as I love HxH I will probably bow out of this one :(

So they don't pronounce Gon as "gohn" but as "gahn"? i think i heard that the english dub of the old HxH did that.

No it's more like if you say "Cone" but with a G instead of a C.

I don't get why names are so hard to pronounce like if someone just says Gon how can people not just copy how they say it lol.
Obviously it gets complicated with larger names like Menthuthuyoupi. I doubt they're even going to attempt that one and just leave it as Youpi

There are so many characters in this series I'm wondering how spread thin the actors are going to be.

Yeah, i was thinking about the royal guards! those are complex names. pronouncing it in Japanese is one thing, but those are unique names, not Japanese. i wonder where those names come from? maybe middle east like Meruem?

Novacane for the pain

They switch to the shortened form of the names pretty quickly, the Royal Guard only really refer to themselves by their full names a handful of times, mostly when first introduced.

The royal guard names are all combinations from Egyptian gods and characters from a French book series that Togashi likes.

Nefertem + Pitou (Neferpitou)
Shai + Pour (Shaiapouf)
Montu+ Youpi (Menthuthyyoupi)
