you should watch it entirely.... the last two arcs ( the seven bandits and the final act are so good)
Yeah, that's what I'm going to do.

Even-though I already got spoiled on the ending and stuff.

I heard the anime rushed the final-act.
I wouldnt say rushed.... but it is indeed very fast paced.... But thats good isnt it ?
It's good sometimes, but not if it rushes through important stuff. Sometimes it can make important events look less important for example.

I plan to do a re-watch of this series due to nostalgia I guess. The theme song still rings major bells, taking me way back to mid-2004.

Yeah, I think that's a good idea. The series is gr9.

I am really nostalgic for it, though so maybe that might cloud my opinion a bit, too. But I still think the series is great.

Its a great series. If you're watching Ep 61, I'm sure you must've observed how the show transitioned from being a shojo to shounen with great Sengoku world building

There are tons of likable characters as Inuyasha, Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, Kikyo, Koga, Sesshoumaru etc

The biggest plus for Inuyasha is Sunrise's great animation quality & Kaoru Wada's soulful BGM's.

For being a 90's anime, this show is suprisingly a solid work from Rumiko Takahashi, also creator of Ranma1/2 & Uresei Yatsura & even known as Princess of Manga in Japan for churning out hits after hits.

Inuyasha along with few classic shows as DBZ & YYH would put most of its successors to shame.

While Inuyasha's strongest portions are mostly in Season 1 & 2, I'd say its peak is Season 5 & 6. In terms of storytelling & character developments.

Final Act is jet-speed in execution, thx to Sunrise's swift adaptation of Takahashi's chapters into 20+ minutes episodes. Its one of the most faithful manga-to-anime adaptation in anime history imo

My 2 cents

I don't know. I think the series was always supposed to be a Shounen, it's just the first episode felt a bit different because the adventures hadn't started yet. When they started their journey, the show felt very Shounen-Manga like and then when InuYasha got Tetsuiga, the series was for sure, I think.

Miroku is funny, l0l. I always liked him. His pervertedness is funny as hell.

I also like that the series doesn't like so many other Shounen-series has a character that doesn't know what love or sex is. InuYasha knows. That makes him feel a-lot more real (& relatable) than, say someone like Goku or Luffy. It also makes the moments where he accidentally sees something he shouldn't (& gets beaten-up for it) even funnier.

Also romance here is better than any other Shounen, too. Even-though for some, I guess InuYasha & Kagome can be a bit cheesy. InuYasha and Kikyo's story is gr9, though & very sad & very heart-breaking.

The demons they fight against can also be creepy as hell, like the Mask.

The villains in Inuyasha are freakin awesome. Sure, they're demons, but the fact they are incarnations of Naraku, the central baddie & utilizing Shikon Jewel at will to recruit a TON of more demons as his slaves just makes the battles more intriguing

Like we have Kagura, Kanna, Goshinki, Infant, Hakudoshi, Byakuya of Dreams, The 7 Bandits. Not accounting additional baddies during filler or slice-of-life episodes.

The plot-lines intertwining all these characters into Inuyasha & Kagome's journey of obtaining the Shikon Jewel & facing Naraku is pulled off so masterfully by the mangaka. Nostalgia or not, Inuyasha is a damn fine series.

I actually find characters like Kikyo & Sesshoumaru to be some of the most original & distinct characters in anime. Even Naraku is a great baddie with solid backstory & depth. His mind-games & "ahead of Inuyasha & Co" traps using his legion of slaves are rivetting even by the standard of anime

Yeah, I do like the incarnations of Naraku, even-though they didn't come until a bit later in the series once he grew powerful enough. What I like even more is that they all are different and some of them aren't even loyal to him, l0l. So they all have their own personalities. I thought the one weird demon with his brother in his mouth was creepy af (forgot his name). He didn't even listen to Naraku, and the way they introduced him with him being restricted and all, made him look that much more scary.

Naraku's back-story is also scary. Like Onigumo is facking creepy and the way he looked and the things he said.

I didn't like Kikyo's at first, when she was still angry at InuYasha even after knowing the truth about what happened, but then I heard she redeemed herself later-on and it was all intentional or something to destroy Naraku.

The sound-track is gr9, too. It fits the series very well, too.

The only character I really liked was Sesshomaru.
Everyone else was poorly written, imo.

How were they poorly written? I thought they were very likeable and all of them had developments of their own.

I saw that it is streaming on Netflix or Hulu and I plan to watch it again. I've seen the entire anime but there was a large gap somewhere during my viewing. I hope to watch it all without going a year or so without watching it.

I am watching it right-now, too even-though I've been holding-off on it for like a week for some-reason. But hopefully I get back to it.

If anything, its Sesshoumaru's charactet which was poorly written.

No offence. You can like what you want & all that. But frankly, Sesshy is terribly one-note character (initially at least)

His single-minded obsession towards Tessaiga, hatred for Hanyo, utter disregard for anything & anyone (including his servant, Jaken) makes it hard to even consider why da hell Sesshy is even in the show. Bland is a word. Boring is an emotion

It wasnt until ep 40+ when Takahashi slowly expanded the pool of characters as Rin, Koga, Kagura, Totosai & Bokusen to an extent that contributed major part towards fleshing Sesshy's characterization, thereby painting him in gray shades & made him interesting. Hence, it masked his flaws & made Sesshoumaru actually "look" like well-written character compared to the rest of the casts

I think Kikyo is one fine example of well-written character. Her transition was so natural & was super-strong against legions of Naraku's minions.

Naraku is no slouch either. Easily most iconic & well-written anime villain along with Frieza, Aizen, Oorochimaru etc

I don't think he ever didn't care about Jaken, since he never killed him or beat him up, but we didn!p'r get to see that more until later.

Sesshy has beat up Jaken so many freakin times lol. Many times, he even threathened to kill Jaken (for just uttering Inuyasha's name, failing to find out his Dad's Grave, unable to protect Rin, eo on and so forth)

Even just during Mt.Hakurei parts, Sesshy beat up Jaken up to 4 times in 6 episodes.

I do think Sesshy is a distinct character. His design, flawless VA, epic transformation scenes, badass swordmanship that'll make Inuyasha lookin like girl scout & subtle emotional changes he undergoes over 100+ episodes makes him a great anti-hero character on par to Veggie, Killua etc

I don't remember him ever beating him up. InuYasha hits Myoga sometimes, though. Sesshomaru just threatens to kill Jaken a-lot of times, but never does it. I don't think he would either.
