It's not like they couldn't have been bribed to lie and point the finger at the higher ups. If you read my post carefully you'd see I wasn't denying that it actually happened, but that it would have been impossible for such large numbers reported because of the Jewish population of Eastern and Central Europe at the time. You're also wrong about the Nazis being a select group of people, the Nazi party had millions of members that were not in groups like the Schutzstaffel and Geheime Staatspolizei. Does South Carolina represent the entire confederacy or just South Carolina? Edited by Helvius Pertinax Augustus, Apr 13 2016, 12:59 PM.

Saying that the Holocaust 'wasn't as bad as reported' is treated the same as holocaust denial because it does the same thing of trying to downplay how horrible it actually was and paint a disgusting regime in a less harsh light. I don't know where you're getting the idea that there weren't enough numbers of Jews in Europe for that, there's been plenty of studies that have backed up the estimate. There were over 3 million Jews alone just in Poland. Yeah but what I'm saying is not every German was a Nazi so those who weren't in the party aren't necessarily to blame. Anyone who was a member of the party and remained so throughout the war? Yeah, they've got some s*** to answer for. The higher up you go in the party structure the more blame you can assign and the morally wrong the actions. Considering South Carolina were the first to secede, they are a pretty big factor in the Confederacy yeah. Then of course you also have Texas, Alabama and Virginia which all expressly mentioned slavery when seceding. Oh and Mississipi also explained their reasons for seceding, which included slavery prominently. So that's 5/7 of the original Confederate States and the other two were also slave owning States. And it just so happens that all the Confederate States were slave states too. I do not see any way you can deny the role of slavery in the Civil War. |
