Electivire RT Pyrrha Nikos RT Paul is commanding Electivire in this battle, but other than that, both are fighting as expected. Round 1: Normal Round 2: Electivire has gotten Motor Drive activated |

Thunder seems like it could do a decent bit of damage, but the main problem with that attack seems to be actually hitting her, it seems to usually go in as one big beam, which Pyrrha has pretty much never been hit by those kinds of attacks, either blocking it (granted I have no idea the electricity would deal with her, and the fact that she uses a metal shield likely won't help things), or evading it entirely, and she generally prefers to evade the larger attacks as well, and ranged attacks in general. Spoiler: click to toggle Protect is interesting, how how exactly does it work? If it protects against only one attack, could one get through using a combo? Because Pyrrha tends to favour doing multiple slashes or stabs or whtaever in even her most basic attacks, she'll usually strike you around 3 times at least. ![]() This is gonna be how she attacks most of the time, multiple attacks in a single maneuver, depending on how long protect lasts he may either get combo'd anyways with almost no difference in Pyrrha's fighting style or all her attacks may end up doing nothing. Thunder punch definitely seems like it could be an issue since it's electricity and Pyrrha would normally block with her shield, (though she may react differently in regards to this pokemon because... everything about it.) Though Infernape seems fine all things considered on that front. Brick Break seems to be more or less the same but without the thunder and rapidity, at least from what I can tell, outside of types perhaps. Also can someone tell me what happened with Pickachu and Infernape with that explosion and tornado? Electivire seems to be more durable, though I wouldn't say Pyrrha is that far behind, she did fall from heights so far up that a Ruby accidentally killed a bird by falling on it (and if wikipedia and google is any indication the height that migratory and hunter birds fly at even at their lowest is at least ten times the height needed to reach terminal velocity), and just broke through three (fairly thick) trees before rolling to a stop and immediately noticing Juane who was a good bit of distance away. With motor drive I think He might be faster, but I'm not 100% on that, he's faster than Pikachu can see, and they're both pokemon that regularly use lightning and thunder so I'd imagine so, That burst of speed would definitely be a great help to Electivire. |

That's a bit of an...interesting point. On one hand, we know Protect can handle barrages of a single move(Gyarados is using it here, but it's the same move) ![]() On the other, if it's done by two different moves in quick succession(such as Feint), then it's broken. You can see the first part is blocked, but the second hit goes through. ![]() How this would translate to non-Pokemon moves is difficult to guess. You could say each of her strikes is an individual attack, or it could be counted as part of the same barrage and as such be blocked
You are correct, Brick Break is basically just a Fighting Type move(interestingly enough, that holds an advantage against steel types). In regards to the energy tornado, Pokemon attacks tend to make explosions even when they ought not to(even Ursaring's Hammer Arm sometimes makes random explosions when it hits things). That being said, it does display a lot of fire and electricity flying about, so I tossed it in there In regards to Electivire's electric output, it's weaker form(Electabuzz) is capable of eating enough electricity to cause blackouts. Electivire naturally has more capacity. |
