Is it possible to live life without judgements?

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

I'm undergoing a course of therapy called 'Dialectical Behaviour Therapy' because of mental health issues I have and one of the core concepts they preach is 'non-judgementalness'. Not judging yourself as good or bad or other people as good or bad, or events etc. It's something I really struggle with because judgements seem so natural. We're almost forced into judging things in the society we live in where we're constantly asked our opinions on everything, something that's become even more emphasised in the social media age. Do you think it's possible to live life 'non-judgementally'? Is this something you try to implement in your own attitude?

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

What will you do when you get old?

I try not to judge individuals based upon preconceived notions but judging a large group of people or events I feel is fine. If you don't use judgement, whether good or bad in your life, you've given up the last bit of control you actually have over your own life.

Crazy Awesome Legend

Judging is how we learn friend from foe. It's also how we know how far to push people's buttons. As someone who wants to become a politician, I feel it is a crucial part of my job to be able to accurately judge a person's character.

As for judging yourself, we should have certain standards. As long as you're not to harsh about yourself then it's fine.

Me personally, I know of my flaws but I put them at the back of my mind and try to convince myself of all my positive qualities. I don't ignore the bad as it keeps me grounded, but being positive about myself is much more important.
