What will you do when you get old?

Here in America you can buy a dirt bike and get a title for it to make it street legal. It's a huge money saver, not as expensive as sport bikes or classic motorcycles, and gets real nice mpg. Something like 70-80 highway mpg. I'm not sure if they do something similar in the UK but it'd be a good option.

The only issue with dirt bikes is safety. It may be fine to commute around town, but the highway is a different matter. That's one of the reasons I upgraded from a 300cc to a 750cc sport bike. I knew if I ever got into a tight situation on the highway, like an out of control car barreling towards me, I wouldn't be able to get out of the way fast enough on a 300. Dirt bikes can be the same. I wouldn't want to ride one on the highway, personally.

That's true, but it is still a valid option for those who can't afford a car and need good gas mileage.

@Richard Kuklinski

Get out your smart phone and record your mom's driving. if it's that bad she can see it on video, but if she's not you can edit the video to make it look worst. Hopefully she will get driving lessons and stop a red light.
