WASHINGTON — The Army’s top general says military forces on the ground face a high level of risk if the United States gets into a large-scale conflict against a power such as Russia or China.

Testifying Wednesday on Capitol Hill, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley says years of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, constrained budgets and troop cuts have had a cumulative effect on the service.

Milley says the Army is ready to fight the Islamic State group and other terrorist organizations.

Why can't America work together with Russia and China to stop Isis once and for all? American's made a mistake with Afghanistan helping Bin Laden fight against the Russians and now look what Laden did.

China is threaten by North Korea and N. Korea has once again threaten America in wiping out Manhattan. Both Russia and America are bombing Syria. So i'm asking why can't they play nice and go against North Korea, Isis.

I'm pretty sure China and N.K are still allies, even though they've had some tensions related to the N.K nuclear program, the alliance is still pretty strong. Russia or America invading North Korea would prompt China to retaliate, and the Chinese military ground troops outnumbers Russian and America by miles. I think Russia is also in an alliance with North Korea as well, but not to the level China is. It would literally be WWIII with even more nukes than WWII, and 2 nukes were 2 too many back then, imagine what 30 of them all trained at various locations around the world would do. Assuming Russia would even help America, other countries would also likely get involved sparking even more conflict.

As for ISIS, really it's just the rivalry and the fact that none of the 3 countries really has any business in Syria. It also doesn't help that Putin administration is allies with the Assad regime, and that not too long ago we were funding ISIS to oust the Assad regime.

Better question. Why can't one of them alone suffice?

If it weren't for politics, one of them alone could do it easily. I'd say it'd be Russia or China more than America though because America always has to play world police and try to force democracy or other ideologies on countries whose citizens do not share the same views.

Man, I second the America has to play the world/international police & force demicracy or its ideologies on countries with citizens who have different views

America 1st has to take care of its obesity issue b4 nudging its Pinnochio nose into other global matters. Ofc, your one of the Super Powers. But it doesnt hurt to have other countries have their respective takes on freedom & rights

OT: I'd just say WW3 would never happen. At least until Obama's still president. Tensions will rise & IS would pose significant threat to US in near future

But I hardly see any reason for China, N. Korea or even Russia coming into understanding with US when it concerns IS

Hell, besides Great Britain & a handful of other "puppet" European cointries, no one is frankly bothered about America or its "transparent" agendas

I'd say we're already in WW3 pretty much.

No, if you want to compare it'd be more like the Cold War era where we're not technically at war but any evidence that one nation is trying to attack the other could lead to WWIII.

Crazy Awesome Legend

Russia is withdrawing most of it's forces from Syria now with the aim of having sanctions lifted in exchange for Europe having more say in what happens after President Assad is removed. Assad will stay in power until all the other troublesome groups are quelled. Then he will be replaced by a person of Russia's choosing but also one who Europe and the USA will tolerate.

This is a pretty good victory for Putin. Plus he's meant to have gotten loads of new weapons contracts out of it as well. Oh yeah and there might also be some agreement on the Kurdish situation in Turkey. Basically Europe screws over the Kurds just like they did after the first world war to appease the much more powerful NATO member Turkey.
