I'm not going to post the video here because of the racists things the guy says. Anyway, that got me thinking. Question: What makes a country truly great (great to live, your kids have a future, entertainment, military strength)?

Internet Explorer Favourite Manga Don't read manga	Well, the most highly advanced and developed countries in the world are primarily white, with exception of Japan and South Korea, which recovered from WWII and the Korean war with help from primarily white nations. Without that help who knows where they'd be? I'd think it would be a reasonable conclusion that without white people, the world would still be stuck in the Middle Ages. It's not racist to believe that white people are great, it's just racist to say white people are better than everyone else because of their accomplishments.

The Manhattan project had majority of people with Jewish backgrounds. Let's not forget that Russia was ahead of America in the space war.

Still didn't vote freedom, in the end what makes a country great will always be the happiness of its people. You can have all sorts of freedom, healthcare, low taxes, a lot of money, all of it won't matter unless the citizens itself are actually happy, that in the end is all that matters. Ultimately, happyness & peaceful life is what makes a country/nation proud. Of course, you need money/wealth, freedom & loyalty (people loving their country & putting it above their lives). But all these are basic precursors for the key aspect of a countries well-being: happt & peaceful life. You toss it away, dats when war, geneocides, terrorisms, racial tension, regional and/or international geopolitical & sociopolitical tensions arise. Which gives birth to havoc

We have relatively excellent healthcare, education and culture, a free press, wonderful scenery, great architecture, rich history and happy people. I mean we complain a lot but in the grand scheme of things what we complain about is generally quite trivial compared to many other country's problems.

Most of society has progressed beyond that to happiness of a population is considered more important in making a country great. I wonder if this viewpoint is popular enough to be added into history books now.

If you mean what makes a countey successful in terms of power, advancements and their economy I'd say being able to foster a sense of national pride and servitude for the nation, make those in other countries believe that your nation is superior and even flawless (especially if you've any desire to control assets in those other countries), having ways to keep wages down and divide any groups that could disrupt those in power but at the same time being sure to draw on ideas from different groups so as to not stagnate and be overtaken. I feel like those are things that superpowers past and present have going for them. Unsure of what is being asked exactly.

We'd be stuck in the 1800s at the worst, seeing as that's when Europe actually starting leading the world for the first tin over 1000 years. Aside from that I don't believe that anywhere near 50% (edit: or even 20%) of the major powers over the last 5000 years would be called "White" and those of Ancient Rome and the Ancient Greek nations would scoff at all the attempts of those from Northern Europe trying to claim the advancements of Ancient Rome and Greece as their own seeing as they didn't group themselves in with those to the north whatsoever.
