I honestly just don't care so long as it's not like a dry piece of rubber I'm eating. Although rare can be kinda annoying if it's really chewy but the blood makes me feel like a caveman or a cannibal so y'know, makes up for it. I usually just order a medium since it's never really going to be over or under cooked unless the chef is high or something. I want steaks now, damn it all! |

I don't really eat steak anymore but I used to just grill it and eat it plain with all the nice juices. |

I think different places cook it differently. I definitely don't like my steak to be well done because it's looks burned and its too dry and taste like rubber. I don't like it rare because it's bloody and as soon as i cut a piece with my knife, there's blood dripping from the meat. The blood doesn't put me off because i have a strong stomach, it's the taste of beef's blood that mixes with the gravy or mushroom sauce. So i usually tell the chef medium where the top and bottom of the steak looks completely cooked but the middle look pink and tender. |

I do a lot of grilling however my diet doesn't include a lot of steak. When I do have steak tho I love to be grilled, I love seeing the grill marks. I think that its a real showcase piece if you can get grill marks correct and manage to cook it the way I want it. I try only to have steak once, twice a month now a days so when I get a steak i have a almost pretentious standard. i'm not usually so picky but I've had to become that way in a sense. Anyway, good grill marks, a nice sirloin is fantastic. I love t-bones but i don't really think I have an area I dislike at all. I'd eat steak all day if i could. I grew up eating it well done because in my culture or maybe religion growing up, you're not supposed to have any blood in your food. So everything was always well done and quite frankly it lessened any chance of bacteria or any foodborne illnesses. I've never ever gotten sick after eating a well done steak or any well done meat. Now a days tho, I've wanted to explore more. i think when i was 18 I was accidentally given a medium rare steak on my birthday and it was so bad. Like I felt sick sitting there and trying to finish it because I have this thing about finishing my food. my friend got my well done steak and loved it lol. Anyways so I know I'm not someone who eats raw or rare meat as cool and trendy as it is. I have so many friends that are like yea Medium rare and bloody. I've never understood why that ever sounded good to people but I'm not here to judge. I get Medium well to well usually. I enjoy steaks and try to do them justice when grilling myself. I think only once have i ever overdone a steak and made it way too dry but it was a flank steak, thin. I didn't like it much. I like a thick juice steak, a little fat, Medium well, hot. Something I don't need to put a1 sauce or ketchup with. Something i can just enjoy for what it is this post is entirely too long. I clearly have issues lmao wth

Rare or medium rare at the most. Anything above that ruins it for me. You need the juice in there are else its just too tough! |
