Depends on the theory. Depends on it very heavily in fact.

Conspiracy theories are funny in moderation, but when it becomes more like a religion, they can be dangerous.

I have a distant relative who amuses the hell out of everyone at family gatherings by talking incessantly about conspiracy theories. He's the type that thinks 9/11 was caused by the government. Unfortunately I can't remember any others off the top of my head, but listening to him drone on over dinner would make anyone lose their mind.

I have close relatives who still insist that Obama is a Muslim and not a citizen of the U.S. despite me disproving them multiple times. It's pretty funny.

I don't think the 9/11 one is too implausible.

Usually the closer you get to the truth, the more dumb the idea sounds. you have to realize, almost everything you know is something you was told.
you have people that will say "why would they lie?" or "my life will be the same, i don't care" like it wont change anything.
"someone would come out with the truth" yeah, on a corporate owned news channel.

You think the government that couldn't keep a lock on something as simple as fake bio-weapons could somehow stage something like that? Have not a single worker speak up about it?

You have lots of faith in the US government, wow

Wasn't there a South Park episode that touched on this, where the conspiracy was that the government were propagating the conspiracy to give an illusion of power? Or, something.

It's certainly something I can imagine the American government willing to do, but I don't believe for a second they did. At least, not enough to look in to all the "evidence" that suggests they did.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I don't think it's entirely impossible that there's some sort of conspiracy surrounding 9/11.

But only along the lines of "The government knew it was going to happen"

Not "It didn't happen at all"
"Aliens did it"
"Photoshop"

I find some theories interesting but the vast majority of them are maddening like all the f***ing crazy rants people go on about how we didn't go to the moon, despite all evidence to the contrary.

They never have an answer for "f***ing why? Why would they even bother to fake that?"

"Because the government are liars and I have to find some way to make everything they say in to a massive conspiracy! For...reasons!"

The "chemtrail" one gets me most. People talking about literally pulling DARPA chips out of the trails, chips that imbed themselves in to your skin and do...something.
How the f*** did they get them?

(a "chemtrail" is the vapour trail left by planes and such in flight, which is apparently super poisonous or destroying the atmosphere, controlling minds and all sorts of crazy things, scary s*** liek)

"What are they spraying?"

I dunno but grade school chemistry might hold the answers.

I've not looked very deep into the topic. So my opinion is hardly valuable. Just hoping to have conversation on the matter.

That is another thing, they may be putting something in the air that isn't good. but they wouldn't want anyone to know about it. so false information gets spread around. what? nano machines in the stuff? i haven't heard of that. but i can tell its to throw any one off that starts to do some research on chem trails. there is also something about hidden tech, its water vapor. engines that only need water.

Water powered engines are a joke. You'd actually be losing energy by converting water to usable fuel for a plane or car.

Lol that reminds me of this gem I seen some months ago:

Because technology can't possibly advance at different rates. That's also why we haven't cured cancer and AIDS, they're just not trying!

Many government conspiracies confuse me.

Like I can understand why the USA might have made or let 9/11 happen, excellent way to allow the government to assert their authority and monitor people with the Patriot Act but...

Why the f*** do all governments apparently want to kill their citizens? I just don't get those ones.

"They're poisoning our water!"
"They're killing our children, wake up!"

But...why? How can you run a country by f***ing killing everyone in it lol and why wouldn't people have noticed and taken over such an obviously corrupt system if they were in place.

Some conspiracies have a shred of "maybe" in them but then I bet there's a conspiracy theory somewhere that suggests people only die because the government created a disease to end our lives, as if people would naturally live forever.

In order for a lot of these conspiracy theories to actually hold water, companies and Governments would have to be monumentally stupid. If the Government really was putting agents in those 'chem trails', are they so incompetent at keeping it a secret that some average Joe could stumble upon it and reveal it to the world? How do these conspiracy theorists even 'find out' about the vast majority of these conspiracies?

What will you do when you get old?

Well there's also the conspiracy that the cure for cancer and AIDS has been developed but pharmaceutical companies haven't released it because of how crippling it could be to their profits.

Governments don't want to kill their citizens, they want to rule over them. If a few have to become martyrs for their cause then they let it happen. The people can't revolt because they are too apathetic and also rely too much upon the government already to just oust them.

Theres a few conspiracies surrounding the Sandy Hook shooting in that the Obama administration paid actors to pretend the shooting happened to further push his gun control agenda. There's also the theory that like the 9/11 theories, there was an early warning that something like that was going to happen but the higher ups, allegedly the presidents themselves, wanted it to happen so they can overstep their authority without repercussion and told the LEO agencies that wanted to prevent it to stand down.

One thing is for certain, Obama is on a bloodthirsty quest to give more power to the criminal element and his regime while striking down the power and freedoms of American citizens and he uses lies and made up statistics to try to get the support of those who willingly resigned to the government long ago. That's not a theory, that is the truth.

How did people find out that that some d.e.a agents and f.b.i agents work together with the cartels and mafia groups?
