What?! That's like say hey this '68 Ford Mustang Fastback 351 Windsor V8 is old so I'm just gonna junk it. No, you don't junk it. You work on it, give it some love and watch it treat you like a prince. It's called a classic. I'm not even that into cars, but it's the first analogy that came to mind. Regardless of the quality of the physical animation drawing, heck yes you watch. If you are at all into anime, those are all need-to-see anime. They're considered classics and staples of the anime world. New anime is only so developed and well done because of these series. I've watch all the anime except Berserk that's been mentioned in the topic and I'd recommend each and everyone to anyone who is into anime and hasn't seen shows like DBZ, Trigun, Yu Yu Hakishao, Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop and so on. Where is Gundam , Sailormoon or Digimon on this list. I'm not saying you need to go back and watch the first anime ever televised (Astro Boy) or Kimba, Speed Racer or Lupin (actually you might like this one) but yes watch at least stuff from your generations anime. For someone who is frequently on a "nostalgia trip" f*** yes you watch what got us to where we are now. They're a great foundation for any fan of anime. |

Yeah man, I definitely do plan on watching these animes before getting into any new generation animes. Forgot to mention Gundam,I definitely want to watch it (heard that it's similar to Gurren Laggan). |

90's and early 2000 anime is good. i really like the look of the hand painted cels. most digitally coloured animation just looks too clean, crisp and colourful. some shows look good like that. but i just really love that gridy look. |

Pokemon "used" to be a good show. When it had the novelty factor. Ash, Misty & Brock's friendship between themselves & their ever-growing relationship with their Pokemons. Beautiful world building (variety of water, fire & land pokemon/trainers, Championship Leagues, variety of creative battles involving wits: air>leaf>water>fire). Not to forget Team Rocket's classic villainy which always ends up ROFL segments. Good times~ Even some of their films: Pokemon Movie 2000 with Lugia, Zapdos, Moltres & Articuno raising hell, or Mewtwo & Entei films belong in "solid entertainment" category Edited by Billa, Mar 19 2016, 07:59 AM.
