Much more is made of women's hair than men's, so there could be a pressure for women to do more with their hair than men e.g. dying, getting it cut in different styles etc.

Mozilla Firefox Favourite Manga Berserk all day erry day	He probably meant when people dye their hair bright green or rainbow colours to violently proclaim how different and unique they are. I've never seen the appeal, vivid red looks nice but then that's a natural reaction as red colours get people going. Otherwise it doesn't make me especially interested in a person, fakeness doesn't attract me to a woman.
