Considering all the regions so far have been based on real life Japanese regions, or other countries, I don't see how there's "too many regions". Putting all the regions so far together would still create a world that is absolutely tiny compared to the real world.

I lost interest sometime around gen 3, but it came back in gen 4 and hasn't gone down again. Pokémons probably my favourite game series.

It's not so much that there are too many it's just that it's always somehow undiscovered places that conveniently are full of civilization right away and then 100 or so new Pokémon in each region that somehow nobody has ever seen before.

Guess it's just more tiring for those of us who've been here from the start, it's the same thing again and again but people new to it aren't likely to mind as much.

Well I've been here from the start :P Pokémon Red was my first game. It's a weird plothole, but it doesn't detract from the gameplay. I just basically ignore all that stuff. I think they've stopped doing the whole "There's exactly X amount of Pokémon" now anyway

How many more new "regions" do you guys think they will make until they stop? And not just new regions, but new pkmn, new mechanics, new evolutionary methods, maybe different forms, something passed Mega Evolution, would you guys play a pkmn game where you, the trainer, could fuse with your pkmn, or maybe they will introduce pkmn fusions. Seeing Mega Evolution, it sort of made me think either they have been planning this for a while, or they still want to keep making money so they just gave in and made a new power up. I personally don't see them continuing passed 2 more regions before they either start doing something really crazy or just stop and we get Pokken type games, and maybe a Pokemon World for NX which ishunter Monster Hunter but contains all the past regions as a whole planet.

As long as it sells, they'll keep going. Simple as that. And it probably sells quite well, so I'd imagine there'll be more than two new regions.

It'll probably get to the point where Pokemon loses the turn-based stuff and becomes more of an action rpg.

I really hope the core mechanics don't change. Not for the main series game anyway.

Trying out new ideas like that is what the barrage of spinoff titles are for:
Spoiler: click to toggle

The main game should remain as it is, so that everyone who already loves it doesn't risk hating the new stuff. Meanwhile new spinoffs come out so those who don't like the main RPG games can still get into Pokémon with a game style that might be closer to their preference.

I completely agree. If they change the battles, which are basically what makes Pokemon Pokemon, then it's an entirely new game. I honestly don't get all these calls for radical change. It's Pokemon, it is what it is.

Some new Pokemon released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTt65qAkR84

I like the first two, especially the first, electric samurai-type thing. And the new dragon looks like the dragon from Neverending Story.

I'm not a fan of the fish or the electric rodent, mostly due to the placement of the tail.

I'm loving the new bugs. Of course the cube-bug has a weird and simple design since it's the "Metapod/Kakuna" of this gen.

The dragon is pretty neat, and something unlike anything we've had before.

And the legendary is looking good too.

Overall a pretty nice batch.

I actually enjoy that they are using other regions of the world, besides Japan, since Pokemon X &Y. Lol
I hope the customization of characters come back. Lol

Gender Neutral, meaning I don't want to be specified to either gender. If you keep calling me by gender terms, I'm just going to call you an "it". That's all.

Yeah, me too. I really like that aspect of it.

More new Pokemon released. I usually focus on final evolutions, and it seems like most of the Pokemon they're releasing are first-stage evolutions, but of the newest batch I do like Mudsdale and Comfey. Mimikyu is.....weird, but I like the idea.

I really like the idea of having region-specific forms. Not too big on the new Exeggutor, but I love the new Vulpix/Ninetails & Sandshrew/Sandslash.

Not to keen on the Z moves, but I wasn't too keen on Megas when they were first announced and they've grown on me.
