There is a laptop lenovo z5075 CPU: AMD fx 7500 Gpu Amd R7 7500 (APU) So I checked the GPU-z and it says so that even in idle the memory clock is always 800mhz. the core clock fluctuates depending on load. Btw the idle temp for the GPU is 40 C under load it is 50C My question is is that normal so that the memory clock is always at 800mhz ? or it is not? |

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

I suppose it depends on the specific GPU and drivers, but, mine is always at the same MHz, core and memory-wise. |

How come? Always thought that depends on the load otherwise there might be some problem with the drivers |

If your drivers are updated, I would assume there isn't a problem. Unless I'm suffering from the same issue and don't even know it

My R9 290's memory clock always runs on its maximum as well. |

It's either because your default Graphics Rendering Mechanism is set to use the external GPU(and not the default Built in GPU/CPU) or your Default Built in GPU is very weak and/or doesn't have enough power to render basic Graphic Operations(such as Screen Rendering,Watching videos,Rendering Mid~Hi res images to screen etc). I used the so called "GPU-z" application and it shows the correct/accurate info for me. My Intel HD Graphics Card memory clock is Max(which is to be expected) and my external GPU memory clock is 0(which is again to be expected in idle/light-weight operations). |

Another thing is noticed so that the core memory clock is always 219.3 Mhz even though thats not even the half of its max So the core clock stuck in less Mhz even under load, while the Memory clock is always max no matter what The drives is the Crimson driver with the hotfix patch came in 2015 december
Doesnt it overheat? Guess the load should say of the Mhz .... or other OC program where you set the Mhz manually Edited by Pointer, Feb 24 2016, 05:43 PM.

Idles at around 40-50, load around 70-75 without an overlcock. Idle power consumption is pretty high though. 100W+. |
