Fair Games or Stomping Noobs?

Which is more fun to do? While there is enjoyment in a close game for me, I'll always enjoy onesided matches against people who scream over their mics over how I must be hacking.

I used to love beating rude or cheating players.

Stomp matches are overall more entertaining, I remember when I was at a friend's house watching him play Mortal Kombat 9. He was facing some kid that was using Kabal, and he was using Scorpion. Basically what ensued was a non-stop combo-fest where the kid didn't land a single punch and said friend managed to dodge his x-ray as well. I've never heard more genuine crying in my life. I wish I could've f***ing bathed in it...

Fair games all the way, that might be because I almost always play coop or local but I don't like making my opponent angry about losing. Usually ends the game session on a sour note if they storm off.
For destroying my opponent, I don't think anything brings me that kind of joy unless I'm playing Darkest Dungeon or Xcom, where they could have easily went horribly.

I don't get it? Do you mean like, do you enjoy stomping people who are acting smug in or over the game and you got to put them in their place? Or do you just mean overall regardless of interaction.

Stomping an opponent without catharsis is boring. It's like trying to grind through weak enemies to level up. I don't see how anyone wouldn't want to have at least a challenging but somewhat equalized match to show off skill and give themselves a challenge to degree unless they want to get through the material as fast as they can.

Both are fun, in my opinion.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Both. I get far more of a rush from close games, but stomping trash talkers or little kids who think they're invincible is always fun.

I suck at everything so for me it is neither.

Close matches are cool though

Accusations of hacking are always funny, and I was likely to stay in a lobby if I didn't have to put in any effort—because dominating a lobby is a great way to increase stats/and or level up for the games that require you to do so—but my most memorable games are all those that involved great opposition.

Though, fighting games are just tremendously boring when your opponent is incompetent.

Oh yeah, I imagine pwning everyone can only be interesting if there's multiple people, I for my part am usually just playing 1v1 games.
Probably why I have little idea what people are talking about when dealing with noobs.

I'm a smash guy. I like s***ting on noobs because I love to be shat on. It's very helpful as I learn more and more on spacing, movement, prediction, etc etc.

So please. f*** me over completely.

Well when it comes to noobs, the kind I'm talking about actually perform worse than bots, and there is quite a bit of amusement to be found in watching them flounder about without a clue. So that's why there's a difference between a bot and a noob for me.

Yeah, it's easy on the ego when there are multiple people against you, and your kills are just racking up. And it can be quite exciting when you realise at least a few of them have made it their mission to take you out; every time they respawn they have fresh ammunition and explosives, and you're hunting around for a gun to keep the fun going.

But, it's incomparable to one great opponent, with pretty much every match involving pride, frustration, and admiration. I really love games where someone figures out an advantage, then it gets picked up-on and countered, and it goes back-and-forth like that.

I like close games a lot, but they are few and far between, and it usually feels like the win was gained via one guy getting lucky, which bothers me a bit. They risk factor on those is high, however, and I'm not sure if the greater reward is enough for me to not prefer noob whacking
