Crossovers question

Ok let's say a character from DC beats someone from marvel in a crossover. "Crossovers aren't canon" isn't a good counterargument though is it?

Marvel wouldn't have been okay with having the DC character beating them if they couldn't

This is from the Hulk/Superman thing I wrote a few hours ago, isn't it? :p

The writers are allowed to do as they wish with the characters, it's not like the companies care if one character makes another character look like a wimp, they've been doing it for decades now without the need of crossovers.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Kind of yeah lol.

I feel like that might make people think less of their character though, no?

Meh, they don't care, as long as the more popular character wins, which is something that they've done a couple of times and it's pretty annoying.

Like the time Wolverine beat Lobo.

That might be awesome, especially since it's 90s Wolverine, back when he kicked a***, but he wasn't THAT badass. He can barely compete with Spidey, he's not touching guys who are close to Superman on practically every level.

If a character losing a fight makes you like them less, then they were a bad character to begin with.
What might happen is that they like the story less, or the author. That's at worst.

My Dear Melancholy,

The winner is either the one who makes the most money or the writer's choice. Sometimes both.
