Piccolo and the Cell Jr

Let's have a discussion about this. Does Piccolo standing against the Cell Jr prove he's close to Vegeta and Trunks' power?

The particular elements that stop me from accepting this are:
-Piccolo didn't go into the RoSaT a second time, yet if he ended up close to Cell Games SSj Vegeta and Trunks the first time, he could have potentially ended up stronger than SSj Goku with those gains.
-Both Gohan and Vegeta think they can win the 25th Budokai in base. Arguably Gohan hadn't decided on the no Super Saiyan rule when he said this (it was before he trained for the tournament, right after telling Piccolo about it).
-The Cell Jr's weren't necessarily going straight for the knock out, other than Krillin, no other character went down in one shot. Even Tien and Yamcha managed to stay standing for a little while. Coupled with Cell's explanation that Goku can't hold his own because of a lack of stamina, it seems like the Cell Jr's were simply doing their best to make their opponent lose stamina, rather than finding the quickest way to knock them all out.

I thought Cell told them to kill the Z-Fighters before 16's head appeared out of nowhere.
If so, then it's still quite impressive Piccolo was able to keep up with the Cell Junior.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Well, there is one panel, the very same famous "Tenshinhan standing" panel where you see Piccolo throwing a punch.

But yeah, the only two that seemed to have had their number were Trunks and Vegeta, who were below them anyway. You might even be able to argue that Vegeta and Trunks really weren't a match for them either, as it seems that Vegeta's punch didn't deal any visible damage.
I love building PCs. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask. I can help you with almost any kind of PC you'd want to build.

I maintain my usual opinion when this question is brought forth - Piccolo wasn't going to win. This much is true. His power was insufficient in matching the Cell Jr. At best, he could delay the inevitable and commit to the DBZ equivalent of a fighting withdrawal. The question is how long he's able to stay on his feet and how much he forces the Cell Jr to work for its victory.

I doubt even Vegeta and Trunks would have won. Every bit of damage that they inflicted was being returned with interest. The idea of them winning is not impossible, but the odds are definitely stacked against them.

Piccolo is smart like Goku

Just 1 trip into ROSAT. He must've realized training any longer is just torture, in short: minimal gain

While Veggie DID twice trained in ROSAT, his performance was still lackluster. At best, would've lasted few more minutes against Perfect Cell. Dats all

As for Piccolo & Cell Jr thing

He is the only 1 who did the best among Z fighters

Goku suffered frm stamina loss. Veggie & Trunks were no different (thx to their stamina/speed effecting ASSJ forms)

Piccolo was da ONLY guy who fought valiantly in Anime, while manga never showed traces of him.

Goin by anime, I'd say he would lose eventually as Cell Jr were playing around

I mean, Cell ordered them to torture Z-fighters. It wasnt till he notices Gohan's rising chi when he ordered all of them to be killed

Basically sayin, Cell Jr's were toying. Wore out Z fighter

Had they were serious/used Full Power from start....

ROFL Stomp is a word. Curb stomp is an emotion
